@GBNEWS As well as all the good work the charity does for people with heart disease some shops offered retail opportunities for people who have special needs . My deaf, autistic foster daughter spent several years volunteering there and has now gone on to have a career in retail.
@RositaDaz48 @RoccoHowat1 That’s nice of him, but I am sure there are many other lovely members of the Royal Family haven’t published books running down the Royal Family who could ‘step in and help’.
@EmmaDee77@SarahOliverAtoZ We read Matilda and made an ‘Amanda Thripp’ outfit for my daughter, based on the description in the book. At school the children said it was rubbish because she didn’t look like the little girl in the film!!! It wasn’t World Film Day🤷♀️
You’re Welcome from Moana, signed with Makaton
I challenge you to try signing the rap in the middle!

Thank you to Makaton Ambassador Holly for helping with the translation
@ilovenostalgia I have a Silver Cross Tenby coach built pram, similar to this but has a collapsible chassis. I was given it new by my in-laws for my eldest son - it is still in use 41 years later - used by my children, foster babies, nieces, nephews and grandchildren - a great investment!
@MikeBubbins Use 90%, the 10% is for the dog, who then keeps the empty can with the rest of his collection in his kennel - until I collect them on recycling day - he always looks so disappointed, loves his can collection.
For #FosterCareFortnight, Samantha, the daughter of one of our foster carers, wrote this beautiful song about fostering and signed it using #Makaton. 🤩
This is such an incredible skill to have. Well done, Samantha! 👏

Part of Your World from The Little Mermaid.

I grew up with the original Little Mermaid song, but I absolutely love Halle Bailey’s version in the new #LittleMermaid film! 🧜🏻♀️
Have you seen it yet?
@historyinmemes My daughters recent tribute to Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody with Makaton signs. It took many hours of filming and editing for her to produce this. https://t.co/W4LGm8Pean
@educationgovuk@fosteringnet I agree with Avis, having a supportive family around you when you are fostering is wonderful. My children have been a major part of my fostering journey and an incredible help to our many foster children.

@TheAmbiguousSod @Lottgelady @FatimaWh1tbread Your experience was terrible, but it really isn’t the same for everyone. Children need to grow up safe and cared for. In your opinion, if not foster care or childrens homes, what is a positive alternative for children who cannot, live with their birth family?
@TheAmbiguousSod @Lottgelady @FatimaWh1tbread Providing the correct support, training and facilities for both foster carers and childrens home staff is essential to help make both environments therapeutic, safe and a good place to thrive.
@TheAmbiguousSod @Lottgelady @FatimaWh1tbread A good foster family can help a child through trauma, to feel safe and worthy of the care on offer. There are many good foster families, but more are needed. However some will fare better in a childrens home with dedicated staff who are trained to support them.
@garethkthomas@Fiona2L We need to find a platform to encourage others to see if fostering is for them. My daughter made this video for Foster Care Fortnight https://t.co/4PzvlO0xXr
