Their discussions focused on Rwanda's economic growth trajectory and its alignment with the country's long-term development goals.

This afternoon, President Kagame also met with H.E. Thabo Mbeki, who is in Kigali for the Africa Mindset Reset Forum. Their discussions focused on Forum’s objectives, and the need for good governance to anchor Africa’s mindset shift.

President #PaulKagame’s story is intertwined with a generation that refused to surrender Rwanda to tragedy.

For some, he is a President.
For many of us, he represents courage, resilience, sacrifice and the stubborn belief that Rwanda deserves dignity.

May history remember not only the battles fought, but the Rwanda that rose from them.

That was my main takeaway from yesterday's press conference.

Given the recent efforts to crack down on companies poisoning Rwandan youth with moonshine, and the ongoing situation with the DRC regarding the FDLR, I was encouraged to hear the president speak with such consistent intentionality about protecting his own citizens.
