Genuinely fascinated by every single piece of this LaMelo trade. Fascinated that Tim Connelly decided this was his move. Fascinated that the Hornets decided to sell high on LaMelo after a great second half of the season.
One of the most interesting trades I can remember.

The reasoning...
Houston - moves into the Top 6 aggressively in a class littered with potential lead guards from 5-10 range. Houston identifies one of them as *their* guy and snags them in front of SAC, ATL, DAL.
Brooklyn - after drafting several guards last year (not a super valid reason imo but...) maybe the Nets aren't in love with the targets at 6 (I've heard Ament rumors...) and instead bank on possibly getting lucky next year with lottery reform since luck hasn't hit yet and didn't serve them well this year. Getting their own '27 1st back gives them another shot in the lotto and getting Suns' '27 1st might be another real chance with updated odds system for play-in caliber area of teams.
I'm not saying I'd do this if I was Brooklyn but I stumbled into this idea and it's at least intriguing enough to consider. If Brooklyn loves someone at 6, then they should stick and pick. But if they feel like they aren't enamored at 6, a move like this could end up strong for them longterm
*I'll share my rationale below in thread*
Completely spit-balling here and I want your thoughts... (feel free to disagree!)
How would you feel if Brooklyn traded pick 6 to Houston for the Nets' '27 1st back, the Suns' '27 1st, and *maybe* another FRP down the road (like '28 Rockets 1st)?
Shout out to my GF for getting me to watch Attack on Titan a year ago.
There's a world where I don't meet her and I have no idea just how hard this celebration goes
The year is 1999. A young Spurs team led by a phenom in his second season won a championship against the Knicks.
It’s been 27 years since New York saw the NBA Finals. It’s also been 27 years since the Spurs watched a dynasty blossom.
History has a way of repeating itself.
Alex Caruso has been the....third-best player in this series so far? Just straight up, the defense, the quick-trigger decision-making, the scoring help he's given OKC. This has been awesome.
