Today marks the final day of our ongoing meeting with the Nairobi County Department of Environment. @Wanavijiji_sdi Youth officer Stanley Mburu, is presenting the process of forming ward climate change committees to the MCAs and the Department of Environment. He is illustrating this through a case scenario based on the process implemented in Nakuru County.

The Nairobi Climate Change Act is currently in the formulation process, making it crucial for us to share insights into how the formation of climate committees is undertaken.

During our meeting, we had the privilege of receiving presentations from various department heads, including the Waste Management Team, Open Spaces and Natural Resources Team, as well as the Environmental Compliance and Enforcement Team.

Ahead of #IYD23, @Wanavijiji_sdi joined fellow affiliates @ACTogetherUG and @ccode_malawi in a NOREC partners meeting in Uganda. The purpose of the gathering was to collaboratively develop a comprehensive proposal for a youth exchange program aimed at expediting #YouthInclusion while enhancing youth leadership and governance skills.

The engaging three-day meeting included a field visit to the Federation Sanitation Project and various other youth-driven initiatives.

The #CIDP2023-27 prioritizes establishing Youth Resource Centers. Governor Sakaja's manifesto already pledges support for new jobs & businesses for youth. Nairobi's youth are united in agreement. Now it's up to the gov't to allocate resources to make these visions a reality.

We conducted ripple effect mapping in Kiamutisya with co-researchers, community members, and community health volunteers.

The purpose of the process was to discuss and analyze the effects of various activities such as physical addressing, CHV profiling, mapping, and enumeration in the settlement.

The session aimed to gain an understanding of the impacts generated by these activities, extract valuable lessons from them, and identify opportunities for improvement.
