During HS Steve was the CHSAA Indoor & Outdoor City Champion in the shot put. Steve also placed in the top three in the discus in the City Championships and qualified for the National Championship. He still holds the shot put record at McClancy with a throw of 60’ 2 inches.

At Saturday's Alumni Reunion, Coach Hopkins '16, Coach Civitano '96, Brother Brian Curry S.C. (Track & Field Coach 64-81) and Coach Liriano '00 got a chance to catch up with Steve Carrara '80. Steve was coached by Brother Brian in the late 70's and early 80's .

Congratulations to 2018 Cross Country City Championship team member and captain Jared Polanco ‘19 for helping the Howard University Women’s Track and Field team win their MEAC Conference Championship.
