Are there any 'Road To Royal Ascot' type podcasts similar to Cheltenham around to listen to? I need to get familiar with the form, and its a long flight! @Ascot@willaitkenhead@racingoncourse@SimonNott
For major race meetings in Aust young patrons are issued with a wristband upon entry once they have shown proof of age. They can then purchase alcohol or place bets simply by having the wristband on display. No wristband no service. Simple. Frictionless. Why not UK bookies?
@jonesy1810@racingoncourse It is that simple. These each way terms are still in the Tattersalls rules of betting. A bookmaker must bet to these terms unless otherwise stipulated on his board. Unfortunately most bookmakers exploit the punter's ignorance of ew terms of betting, simply because they can.
@racingoncourse@AKBets@cannon_oncourse A better thing to do would be to ask the win percentage on his board at the time and compare that, rather than just one runner, although that was telling with the 1/5th bookie 16/1 and the 1/4 bookies 18/1 and 20/1!
@AKBets@racingoncourse@cannon_oncourse Hence we have the rules of betting which state that in a field of that size bookmakers must bet 1/4 of the odds each way unless otherwise stated on their board. The rule is crystal clear, just not followed.
@AKBets@racingoncourse So you are saying @StarSports_Bet and @DragonBetX consistently knock back each way bets. You are sure about that? I don't believe those 2 bookmakers in particular would knock back each way bets.

Despite losing on 7 of the 10 races, and getting the form wrong all day we were able to post a 5 figure win with a massive result on the last. We held 85k and won 13k. Lucky to get the result, but making books where you lose small but can win big seems to be a good recipe.

Betting Ring Report
Having @racingblogger at this year's Quokka was a great PR move. The guy does a great job promoting the Trilogy and the city on this platform π. An early start meant low turnover early but it built through the day.

R10 I hadn't got much right all day but I thought both favs could get beat here and attacked the race accordingly. Stood Pike in the last (Malletier) for 5k with Horcrux under the money. Got a dream result on the biggest hold of the day with Sir Dreamalot.
