Did you know America is missing more than half of our Senate-confirmed ambassadors world-wide? In the @dcexaminer General Laura Richardson and I warn that this strategic gap undermines our ability to respond to crises—from Iran to Panama—and gives China a huge opening. 👇

Congrats, Director Smith.
This is also a great time to recognize Indiana’s former outstanding school safety directors, Woodward and Balko.
Indiana has been recognized as a National leader in school safety – School Safety Academy. https://t.co/VlUaLmrrmJ

This drop impacts individual Hoosiers, families, communities and our entire state.

Hey folks 👋 I’m a mid-Michigan dad and a union educator who’s been standing up to billionaires like Betsy DeVos.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month.
Sooooo….In May, Trump administration announced it will stop paying out $1B in federal grants that US school districts have been using to hire mental health professionals, including counselors and social workers.
Total Disconnect! Shameful.

Reminder to Hoosier families:
Indiana’s relentless attack on PreK, K-12, and higher education is a GOP choice.
There are other states prioritizing kids!
Kids. First. Always.
Well done, @DemGovs!
The Office of Early Childhood is consolidating Kansas' existing early childhood services under one roof, cutting red tape and streamlining access to essential resources. Thanks to this law, we are putting Kansas children first and moving our entire state forward.
As Indiana continues to reduce funding for traditional public schools, struggle to fund 4 different systems of (schools’) choice, discuss voluntary public district consolidation, and start forced consolidation, 5 more charters are seeking approval to open.
Bad policy!
Charter schools need approval from authorizers to open. Here’s which schools are on the agenda for upcoming meetings of the Indianapolis Charter School Board and the Indiana Charter School Board. https://t.co/txaE3YKE1X
Nothing to see here folks, walk along . . .
We are sleepwalking into an economic catastrophe. You can blame Donald Trump of course, but Congressional Republicans hold the key to reversing this.

Trump wants a less-educated future. Indiana is a cautionary tale of what that looks like. Thanks @hicksCBER for explaining to @haveyouheardpod where the Hoosier state went so wrong https://t.co/59TkzhjHvn
If you are an elected official who truly believes in transparency, you don’t strip away the only 3 Indiana University Board of Trustees seats that have been elected by IU’s alumni body since 1891.
@IUBloomington is an amazing university. This Boiler supports the IU Hoosiers!
