We all get very excited when we see the progress our ESOL students make. Sometimes we get so excited that we feel very little to no support is needed. As teachers we continue to support and enrich them whenever we can and at whatever milestone they are at. #huskychat
@drmcgaughy Yes, they are very helpful in making you aware of where your students are and what they can do at each level! The descriptors help you understand what the student can do at listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Newcomer ESOL students who are new to the U.S. and don’t speak English, face a variety of challenges both inside and outside of school. While we have them at school, we can make them feel comfortable, increase their confidence, and support language acquisition. #huskychat
Our commitment to the academic growth of our ESOL students begins with instruction. Using the access score report can show strengths and weaknesses, what students can do at their level, and target our instruction to fill in gaps. #huskychat
