An uneasy 185-mile drive along California’s fresh produce belt w/ <40% of US veggies,<90% of fruit & ALL almonds coming from here. From that soil, that was baking in the sun & blowing over the highway… all while the useable water is running out & urban-rural tension grows. #gulp

@clintwfischer Suggest it's worth adding that the off farm experience needs to include working in another industry and then coming back to farming in a different agricultural system
We eat young steer because it's the most efficient for the market, not because it's the best eating.
