In Nigeria today, very bad men have guns.
In Nigeria today, very foolish people own guns.
How then can you say that guns should not be legalized so that the few of us who are sane can own guns?
Your policemen and EFCC do not respect citizens because guns have not been legalized yet.

You think EFCC will not think twice before breaking into people's homes by midnight?
Again, not everyone can afford guns. Even in countries where guns are legal, many people do not own guns because of the high cost.
Legalization of guns does not translate to putting guns in the hands very Tom, Dick and Harry.
First of all, make strict laws before the legalization of guns.
The death penalty for people who use it against unarmed people will first of all keep everyone in check.
Nigerians are typically afraid to die so believe me, the law will carry a lot of weight. Mandatory time-based training and psych evaluation before anyone can apply for and own a gun must be in order.
Strong laws must be enacted for gun-selling companies to register guns.
There are ways to go around these.
So don't tell me guns should not be legal. They should give me the gun if una no want.
