Today, I visited the UBA branch around WAEC/Independent Layout, Enugu, and while I was there, I noticed something that I believe deserves attention.

Throughout my time with Customer Support, I had to remain standing while being attended to. There were no chairs or suitable seating arrangements for customers receiving assistance at the Customer Support desk.

This can be quite uncomfortable, especially for customers who may have to wait for some time before their issues are resolved. Other banks provide seating arrangements that allow customers to sit comfortably while being attended to.

I kindly suggest that UBA consider providing high-standing stools or suitable chairs around the Customer Support area so customers can sit and relax while receiving assistance.

And if UBA is looking for where to get quality high-standing stools, they can as well buy them from us at Mratm Interiors, Enugu. 😄 We would be happy to help upgrade the customer experience at the branch.

UBA is a reputable bank, and small improvements like this can make a significant difference to the overall customer experience.

Today, we take another decisive step in our collective journey towards building a more united, peaceful and inclusive Kaduna State.

After wide consultations, deep reflection and earnest prayers, I am delighted to announce the nomination of Mr. Jerry Adams, FCTI, FNIM, CNA, as my running mate in the 2027 Governorship Election.

For more than three years, our administration has worked tirelessly to heal old wounds and restore confidence in government. We have deliberately ensured that the dividends of democracy reach every part of our State. Across all 23 Local Government Areas, investments in roads, schools, hospitals, water supply, agriculture, rural development and social protection have been guided by one simple principle: no community should be left behind and no citizen should feel excluded.

Together with our traditional rulers, religious leaders, community organisations, women and youth groups, we have strengthened the foundations of peace through dialogue, mutual respect and shared development. As security has improved, farmers have returned to their lands, businesses have expanded, investments have grown and hope has steadily replaced fear in many communities. Our experience has affirmed a simple truth: lasting peace is built not only by security measures but by fairness, inclusion and equal opportunity.

It is in furtherance of this vision that I have chosen Mr. Jerry Adams to join me on this journey.

Jerry Adams is an accomplished public servant, an outstanding tax administrator and an institution builder whose leadership has transformed the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service into one of Nigeria's most respected revenue agencies. Through innovation, transparency & professionalism, he has helped strengthen our fiscal capacity, enabling government to invest even more in the education of our children, healthcare, infrastructure, agriculture & other critical sectors that improve the lives of our people.

Beyond his impressive professional accomplishments, Jerry Adams is a man of integrity, humility and quiet strength. He has consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to peace, reconciliation and inclusive governance, believing, as I do, that Kaduna's diversity must always unite us rather than divide us. It is quite unfortunate how people are often quick to align themselves with narratives designed to tarnish an individual’s reputation, while overlooking the countless positive contributions such individuals have made to society over the years.

Despite the smear campaigns and negative narratives allegedly amplified by certain media platforms, Ahmed Uthman remains widely recognized by many within his community as a philanthropist and humanitarian who has consistently empowered hundreds of people, both men and women, in his hometown.

A proper background check and objective assessment of his track record would have helped many avoid being misled by unverified claims, media sensationalism, and propaganda.

For those willing to look beyond the headlines, here are some of the empowerment initiatives and impactful contributions he has carried out over the years:

It is quite revealing that certain paid media platforms have deliberately chosen to describe Ahmed Uthman as “Dikko’s in-law” rather than simply referring to him by his name. This strongly suggests an intentional effort to drag the Governor into a matter he has absolutely no connection with, while using sensational headlines and misleading narratives to influence public perception.

The reports alleging that Ahmed Uthman was arrested over forex fraud are entirely false, misleading, and politically motivated. What is being circulated is nothing more than a coordinated smear campaign orchestrated by individuals threatened by his growing influence, success, and popularity, with the sole aim of damaging the reputation he has built over the years.

For the record, there has been no official statement from the police, DSS, or any other security agency linking Ahmed Uthman to the allegations being spread by these media outlets. At no point was he arrested or investigated for forex fraud.

The deliberate attempt by certain media organizations to distort a straightforward civil matter into allegations of financial crime is highly irresponsible, unethical, and deeply unprofessional. Journalism should be rooted in facts, credibility, integrity and not political bias, propaganda, or sponsored misinformation intended to tarnish reputations.

I therefore urge the public to disregard these false claims and avoid falling for the coordinated propaganda clearly designed to target and damage Ahmed Uthman’s reputation.

At the centre of this convergence stood Governor Uba Sani, whose administration continues to project a steady, reform-oriented vision for the state.

The inauguration of the new Banquet Hall at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House was, in immediate terms, the unveiling of a major public facility. Yet its broader significance lies in what it represents: a space intentionally designed not just for ceremonial use, but as a platform for engagement, policy dialogue, and institutional interaction. It reflects an understanding that governance today requires environments that can convene diverse actors: government officials, private sector leaders, civil society, and development partners, in pursuit of shared objectives.

Set on 2.7 hectares and covering about 5,000 square metres, the Banquet Hall embodies both scale and restraint. Its capacity, accommodating between 800 and 1,000 guests in banquet format and up to 1,300 in theatre arrangement, signals readiness for large-scale gatherings. However, the significance of the structure lies less in its size than in the intentionality of its design.

The facility integrates multiple meeting rooms, a conference suite, and a dedicated Governor’s Office, ensuring that governance functions can proceed seamlessly alongside formal events. Supporting infrastructure; including modern kitchens, service areas, and security systems aligned with global standards, further underscores a design philosophy anchored in efficiency and purpose. The result is a space where aesthetics and functionality are balanced, and where every element contributes to a coherent operational vision.

Naming the hall after Brigadier General Abba Kyari (rtd), a former Military Governor of the old North Central State, adds a historical dimension to the project. This decision reflects a deliberate effort to connect present initiatives with past leadership legacies, reinforcing continuity in governance. It also underscores the importance of institutional memory in shaping contemporary public administration.

The Banquet Hall’s significance became more evident as it hosted key events of the 3rd Nigerian Institute of Public Relations Week (Croc City 2026), organised by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. The theme,“Food Security: From Policy Paper to Plate – The Imperative of Public Relations”, captured a central challenge in Nigeria’s development landscape: translating policy intentions into measurable outcomes.

By hosting this event, Kaduna positioned itself as both a venue and a participant in a national conversation about governance, communication, and development. In a context where public trust is often shaped by perception as much as by performance, the role of communication becomes critical. Policies must not only be well designed; they must also be clearly articulated, widely understood, and consistently implemented.

The presence of His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON, added national weight to the occasion. In his remarks, he framed the Banquet Hall as more than a physical structure, describing it as evidence of what disciplined leadership can achieve. This perspective situates the project within a broader narrative of governance reform and institutional strengthening.
