We’re excited to officially kick-off our in-person Partnership networking event. Bringing together members of the Manchester Climate Ready Partnership, wider stakeholders and community representatives this year’s theme is ‘Delivering The Plan’. [1/3]
We recently published Manchester Climate Ready: The Plan 2025-2030 on behalf of the city, setting out how Manchester will mitigate & adapt to climate change over the next 5 years. But having a plan is just the beginning. Today is all about turning our ambition into action. [2/3]
We all have a role to play. Head to our website to read the latest Emissions Report and The Plan for more detail on how Manchester is tackling climate change over the next five years. https://t.co/KxNT2py0Lt [3/3]
We've published the latest direct emissions data for Manchester.
Our latest report shows that whilst Manchester's direct emissions are falling, this is not happening rapidly enough.
Between 2018 and 2023 emissions fell by 20%, well below the 49% reduction required [1/3]
The challenge ahead is clear. Rapid and scalable change is required to ensure that, as a city, we achieve our vision of becoming zero carbon and climate resilient by 2038 at the latest and that we are on track to become a fairer and greener Manchester. [2/3]
Introducing Manchester Climate Ready (MCR)
We’ve been working on a new name and brand identity to better communicate our climate ambitions for Manchester.
