North Indian Muslims, and even Hindus in general, despite having great historical, linguistic, and cultural ties with Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran, could not come together and establish an equivalent of the European Union, which thrives on trade.

Instead of thinking, “How can I make money using these connections?” all their energy went into “How do I establish my dream religious state?”

Imagine having a single, uncontested lingua franca from Kabul to Dhaka...and wasting it!!

KL Muslims took advantage of their historical trade connections with the Gulf, and likewise TN Muslims took major advantage of their strong linguistic and historical ties with Singapore and Malaysia, to make money.
