We are outraged. An Indonesian peacekeeper is murdered. Another is fighting for his life. Israel bombed the base where they served.

This is clearly not an accident, nor a collateral damage. This is Netanyahu’s regime showing, once again, that they don’t care about international law, about UN personnel, and about the lives of those who dedicate themselves to peace.

Indonesia has gone above and beyond. We have sent over 1,200 of our troops to serve under the UN flag. The Indonesian government also joined the Board of Peace to push for a just and lasting resolution in the Middle East. We extended our hand in good faith. Yet the answer to that good faith is a bomb dropped on our soldiers’ base. They spat on every effort Indonesia has made for peace.

But let us be honest, this is not surprising. Netanyahu’s regime has shown time and again that they are indifferent to the world’s calls for restraint. They ignore UN resolutions. They strike UN facilities. They kill civilians, journalists, aid workers, and now peacekeepers. No one is off-limits. No one is safe. Sadly, it keeps going because the world keeps allowing it.

To the UN Secretary-General, we appreciate your condemnation and your condolences. But words are not enough anymore. The UN must move beyond statements. Concrete, enforceable, and urgent action is what this moment demands. The credibility of the UN is on the line. If the world body cannot protect its own peacekeepers, what exactly is it protecting?

To the nations of the world, now is the time to act together. Push for accountability. Refer those responsible to international courts. Enforce the rules that you all signed up to uphold. International law is only as strong as the willingness of nations to defend it. That willingness has been tested over and over again by Netanyahu’s regime. For countless of times, the world has failed the test.

Do not let this death be forgotten in a news cycle. Do not let this become just another statistic in a long list of violations. Demand justice. Demand accountability. Make clear that those who attack UN peacekeepers will face real consequences.

After much reflection, and after it became clear to me that some UN seniors are serving a powerful lobby and not the UN, I have decided to suspend all my duties as PVA Main Representative at the UN and from all UN committees/groups of which I am a member.

I cannot in good conscience be part of or witness to what is happening at a time when the UN is preparing for possible nuclear weapon use.

It has been an honor cooperating with the UN for nearly 12 years under different Secretaries-General and Human Rights Council Presidents, leading PVA delegation.

Pak Presiden @prabowo saat ini (setelah bencana banjir longsor lumpur, kayu gelondongan) sudah tidak relevan lagi memilah yg Legal dan Ilegal.Melihat masifnya kerusakan, kehancuran lingkungan, infrastruktur, kematian kehidupan, rakyat yg kehilangan ayah ibu anak saudara, flora fauna hancur. STOP penebangan sekarang.
Berapa uang Negara dapat selama ini dr penebangan hutan? Sawit? Tambang? Berapa kerugian Negara setelah bencana ? Berapa kerugian masyarakat material & immaterial ? Pasti tidak berimbang. Peta ini memperlihatkan bahwa banjir besar yang melumpuhkan Aceh terjadi di wilayah yang salah satu konsesi hutannya dimiliki langsung oleh Prabowo Subianto melalui PT Tusam Hutani Lestari, perusahaan HTI yang menguasai sekitar 97 ribu hektare hutan di Aceh Tengah, Bener Meriah, Bireuen, dan Aceh Utara.

Konsesi milik Prabowo ini berdiri berdampingan dengan puluhan izin tambang, HTI, HPH, dan kebun sawit berskala raksasa yang bersama‑sama menggerus tutupan hutan di pegunungan dan hulu sungai, merusak daerah tangkapan air, dan melemahkan kemampuan alam menahan limpasan hujan.​

Banjir yang menerjang baru-baru ini datang ketika curah hujan ekstrem turun di kawasan yang sudah lama dikapling izin-izin tersebut, sehingga air hujan tidak lagi tertahan oleh hutan dan tanah yang sehat. Air mengalir deras membawa lumpur dan kayu ke pemukiman, menjadikan banjir bandang di Aceh sebagai salah satu yang terbesar dalam beberapa dekade terakhir, menenggelamkan ribuan rumah dan memaksa puluhan ribu warga mengungsi.​

Wilayah yang disorot dengan garis ungu di peta—Pidie Jaya, Aceh Tengah, Aceh Utara, Aceh Tenggara, Aceh Selatan, Aceh Tamiang, Gayo Lues hingga Aceh Singkil—adalah kabupaten dengan banjir terparah yang resmi berstatus siaga darurat. Di banyak titik, penjelasan resmi memang menyebut luapan sungai setelah hujan lebat berhari‑hari, tetapi peta ini menambahkan lapisan fakta lain: hulu sungai yang sama sudah dibebani 30 izin tambang minerba seluas lebih dari 132 ribu hektare ditambah konsesi kayu dan HTI yang membentang hingga ke batas permukiman.​

Salah satu contoh yang paling menonjol adalah kawasan Linge di Aceh Tengah, tempat PT Tusam Hutani Lestari menguasai hampir 100 ribu hektare hutan dan telah lama diprotes warga karena merampas ruang hidup mereka dan mengubah hutan adat menjadi kebun industri pinus.

Dengan demikian, bencana ini bukan hanya soal hujan dan alam, tetapi juga soal kepemilikan lahan raksasa oleh elit politik, termasuk presiden, yang ikut menentukan seberapa parah air bah menerjang kampung‑kampung di hilir.
