R3 Framework: Regulated. Respectful. Repairable.
If someone can remember those three words, they can change how they communicate in any relationship and in any moment.
Simple enough to teach a kid. Powerful enough to save a marriage.
Most people think communication problems are about what you said. They’re not. They’re about whether you were Regulated when you said it, whether it was Respectful in how it was received, and whether it left room to be Repaired when it missed. That’s the R3 Framework. I built it from the worst season of my life, when I had none of the three and lost everything that mattered. I’m building a company around teaching it. Follow if you want to learn what nobody taught any of us.
A little over a decade ago, my wife left me. Filed for divorce.
And she had every reason to.
I was the toxic one in my marriage. I spent years in the dark places no one talks about. I put in work: therapy, journaling, reading, and breaking down to the foundation, only to rebuild stronger.
Here’s what I found at the bottom: I didn’t learn these patterns. I inherited them.
Children don’t inherit beliefs. They inherit nervous systems. The communication patterns they watch become the blueprint for every relationship they’ll ever have. The same contempt, the same defensiveness, the same stonewalling, passed down like furniture nobody asked for.
The self-improvement industry says fix yourself. That’s the wrong unit of analysis. The unit isn’t the person, it’s the pattern. The timeline isn’t your life, it’s generations.
So I built what nobody gave me.
R³ Framework: Regulated, Respectful, Repairable. A teachable communication standard born from my own destruction and rebuild. What nobody taught me, what nobody taught any of us, became a framework that belongs in every family, every school, and every workplace.
Then I built the technology to prove it works at scale. reFrame detects toxic communication patterns in real time, in what you send AND what you receive. Every interaction teaches R³. Over time, you won’t need it. It doesn’t mean you’ll be perfect, it means you’re on your way to breaking the generational cycle.
Built solo and bootstrapped by a Marine who spent two combat deployments bridging communication across cultures, only to come home and realize the hardest gaps aren’t overseas, they’re right across the dinner table.
I’m the chainbreaker in my family. This is where you break the cycle for yours.
The pattern is the problem. Not you.
Someone posted this about two-handed bowling. Sounds like a passionate sports opinion.
I ran it through reFrame.
Four instances of contempt in one comment. Dismissing an entire style of play as illegitimate. Blaming one person for bowling alleys closing down. Calling their technique a cheat code.
But here’s the part that surprised me: reFrame also caught genuine appreciation buried underneath. The respect was real. The contempt just swallowed it whole.
Contempt wrapped in ‘respect’ is still contempt. reFrame catches both, even in a bowling thread.
The pattern is the problem, not you. See the patterns. Break the cycle.
@diegopavia02 Chatgpt is getting really good at writing these apologies letters. Learn to take out the dashes next time you copy and paste.
I would of loved to see what the prompt was for this output.
@1067theFan You can say this with every quarterback in the NFL. If you only give them protection, WR and a defense. This is one of the most common sense things I ever heard of.
The truly great ones, do a little bit more with a little bit less.
