@MoralMedicine@MarahHehemannMD As a urologist, Dr. Hehemann is understandably going to be most attuned to those. Personally, I'm thankful she's warning people about the drug as she is. (2/2)

@MoralMedicine@MarahHehemannMD As someone who's been cognitively impaired by finasteride, I, too, wish the nonsexual issues got more attention, and I've said as much through this account. However, it's important to note that sexual issues do account for the plurality of reported post-finasteride issues. (1/2)

@sueyside113561@BitcoinOasis86@PFSFoundation I'm not a doctor, so I have no idea, but Melcangi is looking at whether allopregnanolone can help. There are more details in the link above.
@sueyside113561@BitcoinOasis86@PFSFoundation Well, there have been far more than a couple. Melcangi has published more than a dozen at a rate of one to two per year. I understand your frustration, however.
@iallarak@drrachelrubin@BuzzFeed@KennethMPeters1 Doctors like Traish and Irwig have done small studies, but nothing at the scale or rate of Melcangi, etc. I agree there's more going on internationally.
Great to see another urologist spreading the word about finasteride's harms.

Urologist Dr. Marah Hehemann @MarahHehemannMD warns patients of the possible negative impact of finasteride on s*xual function, both at higher (for BPH) and lower doses (for male pattern baldness).
There is a 5–10% chance that the drug will affect s*xual function.
@BitcoinOasis86@sueyside113561@PFSFoundation The paged linked to above answers that. The studies still need funding, though, so if you want there to be a treatment, consider donating.
