When I am asked how I get my students to LOVE to read, I tell them three things:
1. Every finished novel is celebrated!
2. No reading logs!
3. So much choice!

Anyone who thinks required assessments and universal screeners are a good idea for school should have to come and sit with a class of five-year-olds trying to take an online assessment.
