In my faith tradition, we are taught to love our neighbor as ourselves & to forgive others. It doesn't mean we silently accept devious & unethical behavior. So re: Trump, the GOP, & Project 2025:
I hereby warn…….
And I dissent.
Unfortunately the cancer finally won the battle my wonderful wife fought a long hard battle but never complained or gave up hope she died a peaceful death surrounded by family and she wants everyone to know she is ok
Cancer turns you into a human Swiss Army knife - constantly adapting and unfolding to meet every unpredictable demand it hurls at you. When you can't cut through the chaos, you try another tool. Each setback reveals another blade of courage.
I just bought my first box of baseball cards since I was a kid. I have no idea what I am doing but I’m chasing that Bobby Witt Jr king card. I think Bobby would be proud and I am sure I will get hooked. Wish me luck! 🤞🏻
Scott Jenkins was in a position of public trust and he broke the law. He abused his power, violated his oath, committed multiple federal crimes, and was to be held accountable for his crimes.
He was convicted by a jury of his peers of one count of conspiracy, four counts of honest services fraud, and seven counts of bribery. He was supposed to report to prison this week for a ten year sentence.
The president just pardoned him in an affront to the oath he swore, the community he betrayed, the laws he broke, and the law enforcement officers who investigated this case and hold themselves to the highest ethical standard every day.
BREAKING: General Mark Milley delivered one of the finest speeches in American history. “We don't take an oath to a wannabe dictator. We take an oath to the Constitution, and we're willing to die to protect it.” This is a must watch.
BREAKING: In a stunning moment, renowned journalist Scott Pelley just highlighted how Donald Trump is working to stifle free speech in America, and how he plans on fighting back. This is huge.
I hope you had an amazing week.
My daughter graduated on Thursday. We have been recouping since.
All of our energy, and I do mean ALL, went into meeting this goal. Now, we revel for a while before moving into “adulthood.”
I wish she could add “cancer” to her work résumé.
Five years ago today, George Floyd was murdered in broad daylight in an unpardonable, inhumane, dehumanizing act by police officer, Derek Chauvin, who nonchalantly pressed his knee into George’s neck for over nine minutes. NINE MINUTES.
I am praying for George’s family, especially for his daughter, Gianna, who is now 11. Gianna’s “Daddy” matters to her.
George’s life didn’t matter to Derek Chauvin. It still doesn’t matter to many today who make excuses for Derek’s brutality and even suggest pardoning the unpardonable.
But George’s life mattered and still matters to millions, who responded to viewing that knee on his neck for nine minutes with protest and efforts for policy change in legislative halls and corporate suites.
There were some positive results until there was what my father, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., called “white backlash.” In his book, ‘Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community?,’ Daddy wrote:
“The step backward has a new name today. It is called the “white backlash.” But the white backlash is nothing new. It is the surfacing of old prejudices, hostilities and ambivalences that have always been there. It was caused neither by the cry of Black Power nor by the unfortunate recent wave of riots in our cities. The white backlash of today is rooted in the same problem that has characterized America ever since the black man landed in chains on the shores of this nation. The white backlash is an expression of the same vacillations, the same search for rationalizations, the same lack of commitment that have always characterized white America on the question of race.”
So, 5 years later, we continue to grapple with racism in this nation and globally. But we will persist in organizing, creating community, and remembering George and so many others who were deemed unworthy to even breathe in America…to even live free or live at all in a nation that convicted indigenous and Black people of being casualties of imperialism and colonialism hundreds of years ago.
Let’s not give up on us, family.

DOGE uncovered little waste, did nothing to reduce the deficit, and only lasting achievements were to weaken American instruments of soft power — USAID and VOA — because these entities had no interest groups defending them. I hope future leaders will repair the damage.
The Wife's Bestie here. It is with a heavy heart that I must report that Victoria passed away yesterday morning. It was a gentle and peaceful ending to her long fight against cancer. She loved her X community and I hope she will be remembered here. Please remember her in your prayers.

“There is no safer place than in my father’s arms. The best father there ever was. I will be right by his side through it all. Like he has been by mine every day of my life.”
♥️
@MarkWarner I am so sorry to learn of Rep. Connolly’s passing. He was such a fighter for Good. I respected his energy and bravery. And I was proud he was a fellow Virginian. We will miss you, sir!
May God comfort his family and friends.
