Shoutout to Justin (on FB) who shared a Traitors style reading game.
-Reading comprehension text per table
-Explained the rules⬇️
-Selected someone to be the traitor per group (heads down, thumbs up)
-15 mins to complete
The chaos when the traitors revealed themselves made it🤣
After reading a @peterhreynolds book that focused on using the 5 senses to describe a setting, we looked at what we want our classroom to look and sound like. Loved using this as a basis for our essential agreements this year. #ibpyp@ibpyp@GEMS_ME
We read The Word Collector and asked our Grade 4 students what word they’d like people to use to describe them this year. Kind, athletic, creative, thinker and sophisticated were a few. We look forward to seeing our students model these words this year. #ibpyp@GEMS_ME
I am looking for a bank of guest speakers who I could contact. We can't use Skype unfortunately so I can't see their list. Even better, does anyone have a contact for someone in exploration? #pyp#edtechchat
Students looked at how we use multiple learning styles to learn a new skill (playing an instrument) & explored the growth mindset statements they used to overcome obstacles #pyp#GrowthMindset@ibpyp@XCLWA
Thanks to our wonderful teachers @XCLWA ‘Live from the Library’ read alouds were a great success across the entire school during Book Week! #xwareads@holtspeak@MeagDS Dr. Samuel Strozzo
I would like to find a penpal for my Grade 3 international students in Singapore. We are going to read Same, Same but Different before writing. Please send me a message! Happy to email or post. #edtech#writersworkshop@ibpyp#penpal

Students listened to sounds from natural disasters in our auditorium in darkness, found photos of each disaster to figure out definitions and completed a @breakoutEDU before doing a Think, Puzzle, Explore #visualthinking strategy #EYPYgems
After learning about goods, marketplaces, competition, profits & losses, young G4 entrepreneurs hosted a Market Day. They came up with their products, pricing strategies, booth designs, signages and advertising campaigns to understand how simple economics & works. #IBYP
@junipa80@holtspeak@toddle_edu@edjlau Ok thanks! I like the features for students to create new posts, and hope that those will be transferred to activities in the ‘Classroom’ tab too. We’ve loved how students are able to respond to activities in different ways.
@junipa80@holtspeak@toddle_edu@edjlau@junipa80 How did you continue to set flexible, interactive activities? This is the only portion of the Toddle interface that seems to be lacking a bit. Thanks!
Students were allocated beans as currency and had to decide on how they would spend it. Great discussions about priorities, saving & family values arose. #ibpyp#hwoo@ibpyp#primary#grade4
Grade 4’s did our first Drop and Run Science Fair. Students dropped off their displays, knocked on the Grade 1 door and ran away quickly :) We’ve left QR code’s to view our live experiments which links to G1 procedural writing. Thanks G1!
