I’ve fallen for Elon Musk’s trap.
I’m really considering getting another Tesla because I could sell my BMW M4, use a portion of that cash as a down payment on a brand-new Model Y Performance at 3.99% APR, then I’d put the leftover cash in X Money to make 6% APY, while also saving around $50 per week on gasoline.
If @elonmusk replies I’ll do it 😅
If you are having issue with it searching for parking, I’ve found that manually hitting the turn signal while near a parking spot will make it instantly parked. Oddly seems to park better as well at least in my limited testing. Here’s a side by side of letting it search vs pressing the turn signal for the same destination
If you are having an issue with v14 lite skipping open parking spots and searching forever, I randomly decided to see what would happen if I hit the turn signal while it was looking for parking and it instantly parked. Before with this lot it would keep searching and eventually park super far from the destination I put.
Things I’ve discovered about v14 Lite over the last few days.
It can stop for a construction worker holding a stop sign, and it will wait for them to flip the sign over to slow before proceeding. With v12 it would stop then try to go.
I’ve also discovered the main issue for reverse parking for me atleast is the car doesn’t pull far enough past the parking space, so it has to go back and forth 3 times in order to reverse park. By manually pressing the accelerator to make it pull a little further past where it wants to park, I’ve had it perfectly reverse park every time.
I had over 6.4k miles on v12 FSD since April according to self driving stats. A lot of the things I found that annoyed me daily are definitely gone.
With v12 I felt like I had to drive the FSD with manually using turn signals and constantly having to swap between different speed modes on the highway because it would love to swap lanes randomly.
V14 lite is definitely much better on the highway and no longer swaps lanes for no reason, but it seems to be slightly overturned because now it REALLY doesn’t want to swap lanes. It will commonly wait until the last second to swap lanes for a turn, and if the lane you are in is suddenly coming to a quick stop while the lane next to you is still going, it will no longer get over into the other lane like v12 would, even in hurry mode.
Start from parking / parking is a nice addition but at the end of the day it’s still kinda just a gimmick, it only really accounts for like 2% of your daily trip. But it does help create a complete experience.
I’ve had zero issues with start from park, and pull in parking has always been perfect. But it loves to take its time searching for a parking spot even in a completely empty lot. Reverse parking is terrible but I’ve found if you give it a little of the accelerator to pull further past the spot it wants to park it does a good job.
Welp there goes my 48 mile streak. Had to slam on the brakes for a pedestrian attempting to cross at a crosswalk because v14 Lite made no signs of stopping. V12 would always stop for pedestrians at this crosswalk.

@TexasTSLA@aelluswamy@Tesla_AI Maybe if they had sent it out first to people who actually want to test its limits and not just glaze Tesla it would be better
@koby_pierce Reverse parking has been awful, has to always adjust atleast 3-4 times and still parks terrible. Oddly pull in parking has been spot on for me every time
@TeslaJoy I have noticed it stopping pretty far from the car in front when at a red light sometimes, and if the car in front creeps forward after v14 lite won’t close the gap until the light is green
@that762life@vad3rt3sla@aelluswamy Weird, I’ve had zero lane swaying / hugging the line. And it does pull over I had to pull over for a firetruck and there was no cars in front of my so it wasn’t just copying a car.
