5. Psychologically - when a friend sees you in a Tee Shirt on a Tuesday, and they're wearing a necktie in a cubicle, or they're locked in an OR. They simultaneously will HATE your freedom, but are also inspired and drawn by it.

6. Marketing yourself is extremely valuable.

1. Nobody really cares about you, unless it impacts them.
2. You will face setbacks, chaos, failure. Accepting this is key.
3. People don't like you (at first) if you stand out from the crowd.

There’s no escaping revision spine surgery.

But we owe it to our patients to continually improve our understanding of biomechanics, indications and surgical strategies to provide durable outcomes and decrease the need for such revisions.

In the 2nd edition of this text, we’ll dive deep into innovative techniques that could decrease the often extensive surgical footprint of revision surgery. Perhaps endoscopy, MIS approaches, AI, or even non-op measures should be further explored.

Ideas, suggestions, and interest in chapter authorship for the 2nd edition are welcome!
