On July 23, 2026, the International Freedom Coalition (IFC) held its inaugural gathering at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. The coalition, initiated through the efforts of Dr. Walid Phares and Charles Jacobs, with the support of Ayaan Hirsi Ali, brings together individuals and communities affected by jihadist violence. The Biafra Republic Government in Exile (BRGIE)was represented by: • Dr. Bryson Okeoma, Minister of Foreign Affairs • Nwada Oby Ogbodo, European Representative • Professor Chioma Okeoma, Secretary General During the presentation, the BRGIE European Representative highlighted the continued imprisonment of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Leader of IPOB, and Mazi Simon Ekpa, Prime Minister of BRGIE, that both remain wrongfully imprisoned. The freedom of these steadfast Biafra agitators remains a priority, especially that of the BRGIE Prime Minister, whose court proceedings are scheduled to begin in twelve days, on August 5, 2026. On July 23, 2026, the International Freedom Coalition (IFC) held its inaugural gathering at the Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C. Reports indicate that entrepreneur Chigozie Nnabugwu, during a televised interview on News Central TV around 19 July 2026, called on the Nigerian government to execute Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, claiming that such action would restore normalcy and reduce insecurity in the South-East.
