ERIC WEINBERG TRIAL BEGINS:

Currently sitting in at the trial of TV writer Eric Weinberg who is being accused by 7 women of sexual assault.

Prosecution and defense have both delivered their opening statements, where the state alleged Weinberg posed as an amateur photographer in order to lure the seven women to his home in Los Feliz where he sexually assaulted them.

Weinberg defense told a different story, claiming the women’s story changed after Weinberg’s ex wife hired a private investigator and began going after her then husband. The defense alleges Weinberg’s ex encouraged them to make court declarations to support her custody fight. Prior to 2022, the defense alleges the women never reported rape and that their client allowed the women to leave the Los Feliz home.

The first witness, identified only by her first name, has taken the stand. The court has provided her with a therapy dog to help keep her calm while testifying. Rachel told the court she was anxious about testifying. She testified that Weinberg approached her about taking photographs of her and said she was “flattered.” She then described becoming uncomfortable when Weinberg removed her clothes, allegedly saying “It’s okay,” while photographing her.

He has been in jail since 2022 awaiting trial on 23 counts of rape and sexual assault. @LAmag

There are many false and inaccurate reports circulating in the media regarding Perez and the circumstances surrounding this situation.

We want to confirm that Perez remains hospitalized under Florida’s Baker Act. His communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care. He has not communicated with the media or issued any public statements.

The only statements regarding Perez that should be considered credible and authorized are those published directly on https://t.co/P1m1LEQval.

Perez’s condition remains serious but stable. He experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days. His treatment and recovery will be a long process. We are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.

As our family remains focused on Perez’s treatment and recovery, we also need the space and privacy to care for everyone affected by this situation.

There is absolutely no reason for members of the media or the public to remain outside the family’s home. We again respectfully ask members of the media to leave the home and surrounding area, stop following family members, and cease photographing Perez’s children. We also ask photo agencies not to purchase, publish, or distribute any photographs of the children that may have been taken.

For more than a decade, https://t.co/P1m1LEQval has maintained a “no kids policy,” meaning the site does not publish photographs of children unless they are attending a public event or their family has chosen to make those photographs public on social media.

Perez’s children remain safe and are being cared for by immediate family.

Please allow them and the rest of the family the peace and privacy they desperately need during this incredibly difficult time.

NEW: Lil Durk says the Feds are trying to derail his August 20 trial by filing new charges at the last minute and dumping thousands of pages of discovery weeks before trial. His attorneys accuse the government of “hide-the-ball” tactics and say there were no meaningful new developments to justify the delay. Durk is asking the judge to keep his August trial date or dismiss the new indictment on speedy trial grounds. The legal defense team representing Karmelo Anthony has filed a Verified Motion to Recuse, requesting that Judge John Roach be removed from presiding over all remaining post-trial proceedings. The defense has also filed a Motion for New Trial, raising constitutional and legal challenges stemming from the trial, and is requesting that those issues be decided by an independent judge. These updates are being sent out to the media per Anthony’s new PR team.
