For those who don't fully understand what is up with the NHS, here is a thread for you that might help.
I'm a consultant physician working as a doctor in the NHS in Yorkshire and Wales for 32 years now. I have experienced the NHS at its best (2008) and its worst (2022).
Invitation to participate in study of medical doctors, nurses & admin staff about way they learn at work. Interviews <1 hour; offer of free place in UoB masterclass on the project results. Email Dr Margarita Nyfoudi: [email protected] or Prof Justin Waring: [email protected]
From work started in 2018, great to see this comparative chapter on changes to medical professionalism (with Prof Mark Exworthy @_HSMCentre) published in 'Lawyers in 21st-Century Societies - Vol. 2: Comparisons and Theories' https://t.co/066YLuzOgS #medicalleadership

My colleague @RakhiChand is conducting research examining the disproportionate underrepresentation of racially minoritised women managers in the NHS, with a study intended to support policy & practice to address this issue that impacts patients and society at large ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
4. Medical Leadership 'talk'
This study, again with Prof. Mark Exworthy & Dr. Katie Willocks explores the language doctors use to describe their leadership & how it aligns (or not) with national & professional policy discourses [photo https://t.co/E0qVI4wwPd]
A relief (& delight) to get to the end of coding 60 interviews (1000+ pp transcript) of my .@bam_ac_uk UK #medicalleadership development study, which started in August!
Some initial ideas presented @bam_ac_uk & .@LeadersHealth conferences this year
3. The ongoing evolution & mutation of medical professional identities, including 'capture' by leadership & 'leaderism' (with a quick plug for a forthcoming book ch. https://t.co/wzkpddSjZp written w. Prof. Mark Exworthy .@_HSMCentre)
