In the past half hour, we’ve gained almost 100 followers and quite a few donations.
First of all, thank you all so much for your generosity!
We’d also like to take this moment, especially following tonight’s events, to talk about the role of street medics at protests.
Here are the #’s from U of MN doctors: 89 people injured by #LessLethal weapons during #GeorgeFloyd protests. 32 people sent to ER due to tear gas. 10 hit in eye by rubber bullets. 16 suffered traumatic brain injury. 7 required emergency surgery. @kare11
When we reschedule, we'll post the new date here as well as sending it out to those already signed up. We still have several slots open for that training. Stay tuned, and thank you all for your patience! (2/2)
Hey all, if you've DM'd us recently & haven't received a reply, we apologize! We've had a busy week & are working to respond to everyone ASAP.
Additionally, due to the widespread closures in DC, we've had to postpone our 1/17 training. (1/2)
Hello! We have two training dates coming up this week: Thursday 1/14 at 5pm and Sunday 1/17 at 5:30pm. We still have spaces left---shoot us a DM if you're interested!
Hello everyone, WOW! We have received a LOT of interest in our training this weekend. Unfortunately, we have only 12 spaces for this Sunday due to COVID precautions. We’ll have another training the following Sunday and can hopefully fit everyone else in then. Thank you all!
Good evening, DC. It’s been a difficult and scary 36 hours—we hope you all are taking time to decompress.
With recent events in mind, we are actively recruiting new medics & will be holding a training this Sunday. Details ⬇️
Finally, we are incredibly grateful to have received an influx of financial support over the past 24 hours. We will use this money to pay for training, replenish our general supply stock, & purchase an AED (essential for resuscitation, & often not available at large protests).
For those attending demonstrations this weekend, stay safe and prepared by carrying the following:
- Band-Aids
- Water bottle
- Extra mask
- Granola bar or other snack
- Gloves, hat, and scarf
As always, if you’re hurt or in need of help, look for a medic wearing red crosses.

And if you’d like to help us purchase specialty lifesaving supplies—as well as comfort, hygiene & care items—you can follow the link in our bio (https://t.co/g2RED4Fsrd)
We absolutely couldn’t do this without your support. Thank you all so much!
We hope we never have to use these supplies; we hope we never have to treat a gunshot wound. But as we saw tonight, First Amendment demonstrators put themselves at serious risk by making their voices heard.
We will be here no matter what to provide immediate care (and masks!)
