🚀 We're Hiring: Senior UK-Based Software Engineer for Medisphere AX – The Bloomberg Terminal for Surgical Devices
Medisphere AX is a UK-based HealthTech SaaS startup digitising surgeon feedback into regulator-ready real-world evidence. We’re turning paper evaluation forms into instant, MDR-compliant data for MedTech manufacturers – with zero-friction magic links, blinded industry benchmarking, and one-click PSUR/PMCF exports.
Backed by top surgeon NEDs and in pilot negotiations with our lighthouse customer (a leading haemostat manufacturer), we’re raising pre-seed and scaling fast ahead of the 2026–2028 MDR deadline wave and NHS MedTech Compass rollout.
We’re looking for a UK-based Senior Software Engineer (full-time, remote/flexible) to join our technical team and own key parts of the platform.
What we’re looking for:
Technical Skills

Strong proficiency in Node.js/Express, PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern frontend (React or similar)
Experience building scalable, secure SaaS platforms with OAuth 2.0, API integrations, and cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Oracle – UK data residency essential)
Hands-on with encryption (AES-256), differential privacy, and audit trails
Bonus: AI/ML exposure (scikit-learn, PyTorch) for future analytics and federated learning
Familiarity with IEC 62304 software lifecycle, Agile/DevOps, and rigorous testing

HealthTech & Regulatory Experience (critical)

Proven background in MedTech, NHS digital projects, or regulated healthcare software (e.g. EDC platforms, RWE tools, clinical registries)
Understanding of clinical workflows (post-market surveillance, PMCF, lot traceability, surgeon usability)
Knowledge of EU/UK MDR, ISO 13485, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11, HL7/FHIR, and CE/UKCA marking processes
Experience handling sensitive clinical data and anonymised pooling

You

5+ years software engineering, ideally with HealthTech or regulated environments
Excellent communication – able to collaborate with clinical stakeholders and translate requirements into clean code
Problem-solver who thrives in a fast-moving startup
UK-based (for regulatory alignment and occasional in-person meetings)
