Someone (not in education) was surprised to hear that teachers have to set up their own classrooms.

She thought we had someone to do that for us and we just walk in the first day and start teaching. I had to explain it takes days of prep + physical labor. And we don’t get paid.

Back to classroom teaching after about 8 years away and I’m appalled anew at how much of our own money teachers are expected spend. And not even on fancy extras. My grade 3 classroom has no READERS. How do you teach reading without books?!?!

I just started anti- depressants and the pharmacist recommended taking it after breakfast because it reduces appetite as if lack of hunger has ever stopped me from eating.

So my daughter has been going through a tough time and my mom asked how she could help. So I gave mom her number and said text her from time to time so she knows you’re thinking about her. Any guesses on how many texts my daughter has received? (Hint: my family sucks)
