Based in Central #London and #Manchester, Open Upright #MRI scans in a weight-bearing position; delivering more comprehensive data - without #Claustrophobia
@Catrina_Em@H2OhTwist@Girl_by_the_Aga@DrEReinhold @autiegethernow Hi Catrina... Medserena has Upright Open MRI centres in London and Manchester.
We specialise in imaging patients suffering from #EDS - see link here https://t.co/geWla67pVY
Given the choice, just 15% of people in our mini-poll said they would prefer a conventional #MRIscan where you lie down in a #tunnel - not surprising when you can sit down or stand up in a #MRI scanner that is completely open at the front. No #claustrophobia and no #FearofMRI
Our recent mini-poll also showed that over 80% of patients are not aware you can ask your #consultant to refer you for an #UprightOpenMRI scan, where you sit or stand in a scanner completely open at the front - no #claustrophobia and no #FearofMRI
The non-expert guides on #EDS & #HSD were written for the newly-diagnosed, our families and friends, journalists and students who want a quick understanding, even doctors, nurses, physical therapists, technicians who need a fast read before an appointment https://t.co/trrIA0vtVQ
Not all #back problems result from #obesity, but it doesn’t help. When you sit, your #body exerts 11x pressure on your #joints than lying down. We scan #upright so we can diagnose stress on joints – #knees, #hips, #spine and #lumbar region https://t.co/iDTLdJr5b6
@TweetyAccount@KSkarenscott Hi one of the many advantages of upright open MRI scanners is that they are far quieter than the conventional 'tunnel' type scanner. You don't need ear plugs! Also, we have a 50 inch TV screen so you can watch a film or TV programme whilst the scan is being done!
One way to get #NHS funding for your #UprightMRI scan is via an Individual Funding Request (IFR) which, if approved, guarantees payment from the local #Hospital Trust or Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) #EDS
@addiengeorge I'm very sorry to hear that. We only operate in the UK and Germany so I have no idea how the system works in the USA, I'm afraid. You could ask for advice from https://t.co/ieXpc7pxco but I don't know whether they specialise in EDS scanning. Best of luck and good wishes!
@KSkarenscott We know this is demanding for many patients, so after 5 mins we can allow a 1 min relaxation period. Although remaining seated, you can stretch your arms and legs before recommencing the session. You can also have a friend/relative with you, or watch TV - helpful distractions!
Look at what Professor Francis Smith, Clinical Director at Medserena Upright Open MRI Centre has to say about why MRI scans are so constricted https://t.co/9v8uzwbaWD @Medserena
We're always happy to help, Karen. We specialise in imaging patients suffering from #EhlersDanlosSyndrome or #hEDS and we understand that horses are sometimes actually #zebras - all the best from the #Medserena team in London and Manchester
I'm fed up with arguments in the M.E groups. Don't go rushing for cervical fusions, but equally don't discount possibility. Easy method for sorting it in UK. If you're suspicious you may have it (& no you don't have to have EDS) get upright scan at @Medserena#millionsmissing
Traditional #medical#scans may be unable to accurately diagnose #whiplash after a #CarCrash. Doctors fail to look for injury in the craniocervical junction (CCJ) – the complex area of ligaments and tough tissues that connect the top of the spine to the skull
@dighealthbuzz
Tell us about your May. What #myEDSchallenge or #myHSDchallenge did you take? What was the most memorable or impactful moment during this year's May Awareness month?
Tons of great content in the latest issue of Hub News... please take a look. If you're interested in healthcare, then this is a real page turner! https://t.co/okV4DRg89G
