You’re mistaking disillusionment for opportunism. My politics didn’t change overnight they eroded as the SNP failed, year after year, on the things that matter most: drug deaths, public services, truthfulness. My stance on recovery and accountability hasn’t shifted an inch. If telling the truth about that is ‘snakey’, then so be it. I’ll happily work with anyone independence supporter or unionist if it means fewer coffins and better futures. If power or money were my aim, I’d have picked a far easier line of work than addiction advocacy.
