Across Manikchak, Ratua, Malatipur and Gazole today, I met countless mothers, brothers and sisters, and the warmth, faith and strength I witnessed will stay with me. This bond comes from years of receiving love, standing with people, ensuring support reaches every household, protecting dignity, and delivering what was promised.
That is why it must also be protected. If these Delhi’s Zamindars are allowed to enter, everything that supports ordinary people will be at risk. Progressive schemes like Lakshmir Bhandar, the assistance that reaches women and families, the systems that have been built with care for the youth, all of it can be stopped or weakened. We have seen this pattern elsewhere, and Bengal cannot allow it to repeat here.
At the same time, what is unfolding is deeply concerning, names are being removed, processes are being interfered with, officials are being changed, all in an attempt to influence the outcome before people even vote. Despite the best efforts of the Bangla-Birodhis, they will still not be able to defeat Bengal.
Because this is a land where unity is a way of life, where we say Joy Maa Durga, Subhanallah, Waheguru Ji Da Khalsa, Merry Christmas with equal respect; where every caste, every creed, every religion belongs equally. This is our identity, and no Bohiragoto can dictate or diminish it.
I urge all of you to stand together, protect what we have built, and respond through your vote by trusting Maa-Mati-Manush candidates Kabita Mandal, Samar Mukherjee, Abdur Rahim Boxi, and Prasenjit Das. Bengal will not bow, Bengal will not break, and Bengal will answer decisively.
In 2021 @narendramodi turned “Didi”, a term of respect in Bengal, into a weapon of mockery and gendered insult. Today that weapon is fully loaded and firing
Watch a BJP karyakarta from Uttar Pradesh hurl the most revolting, sexually abusive filth at Smt. @MamataOfficial. This is the direct lineage:
Prime Ministerial taunt → party-wide normalisation → street-level misogynistic violence in words and intent.
The @BJP4India did not just fail to stop this culture. They cultivated it. They celebrated it. They exported it.
Bengal says #BoycottBJP.
Proud to share that, for further increasing the safety and confidence of women in our city, Kolkata Police is launching two more initiatives from today.
First, several all-women Pink Booths at key city intersections will be commissioned and be operational from evening to midnight, today onwards. My sisters in the city will be able to connect directly with the lady officers of KP for any assistance in these booths.
Second, today evening onwards, several 'SHINING' (as I have named them) all-women mobile patrol teams will also be on duty from 8 pm to 2 AM, patrolling E.M. Bypass and other major city roads used by my working sisters during night hours.
Kolkata continues to be the safest city in the country over the years and I am sure these two unique new initiatives will go a long way in furthering the same.
An unprecedented collapse at the hands of the Election Commission, and Bengal continues to pay the price. What should have been a routine voter roll revision has been reduced to chaos, driven by @BJP4India’s diktats and facilitated by a pliant @ECISVEEP.
Consider the facts:
👉 Total Logical Discrepancy cases: 1.36 crore
👉 Cases still undecided: 50 lakh
👉 Judicial Officers available in Bengal: 250
👉 Even at an extraordinarily optimistic disposal rate of 250 cases per officer per day, clearing this backlog would take nearly 80 days. The February 28, 2026 publication deadline is, therefore, plainly unachievable.
This crisis is entirely of ECI’s own making; mass deletions over minor spelling variations, surname differences, routine address changes, and, most alarmingly, opaque and unverified AI-driven exclusions. Instead of safeguarding democratic participation, the Commission has jeopardised it.
In order to prevent irreparable damage, the Supreme Court has now had to step in, enabling the Calcutta High Court to seek assistance from serving or retired judicial officers of the High Courts of Odisha and Jharkhand. Such intervention underscores the gravity of the failure. Every legitimate voter has a constitutional right to be on the electoral roll. That right cannot be diluted by incompetence, bias, or political design.

“বাংলার মাটি, বাংলার জল, বাংলার বায়ু, বাংলার ফল--
পুণ্য হউক, পুণ্য হউক, পুণ্য হউক হে ভগবান॥”
I extend my heartfelt greetings and congratulations to people across the world who cherish and celebrate their mother tongues with pride. Yesterday, on the solemn occasion of Bhasha Dibas, at the Bhasha Smritistambha at Deshapriya Park, I offered floral tributes to the brave souls whose sacrifice ensured that we may speak our mother tongue without fear. Their martyrdom transformed language into a symbol of democratic assertion and cultural self-respect.
I was also privileged to honour eminent personalities from diverse walks of life with the Banga Bibhushan and Banga Bhushan award. Their presence, and the songs and poetry that filled the air, elevated the spirit of the observance into a celebration of Bengal’s creative genius. I was also pleased to confer the Banga Bhushan honour upon Star Jalsha and Zee Bangla in recognition of their significant contribution to Bengal’s cultural landscape.
Bengal, and India, are lands of many languages and cultures. As we love Bangla with devotion, we equally respect Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, Kurukh, Kurmali, Rajbanshi, Santali, Kamtapuri, Sadri and every other language spoken across our soil. Each language carries within it the history, memory and aspirations of its people. This unity in diversity is our greatest strength.
It pains me deeply that divisive forces are attempting to malign and target those who speak Bangla, labelling them as “Ghuspaithiya”, subjecting them to humiliation and persecution. Such actions strike at the very heart of constitutional values. We shall never allow Bengal’s culture, heritage or identity to be undermined by intolerance or narrow-minded politics.
Let 21st February renew our collective pledge that no communal or divisive force shall fracture Bengal’s harmony; that no attempt to erode our linguistic pride shall succeed; and that we shall uphold the inclusive and secular ethos that defines us. The glory our mother tongue has bestowed upon us before the world is a legacy we are duty-bound to protect.
Jai Hind. Joy Bangla.
If leadership means anything, it must mean ensuring that no citizen is left struggling for something as fundamental as healthcare.
Through Sebaashray 2, several elderly citizens who had been living with blurred vision for years have now regained clarity and confidence.
Through coordinated referrals, 46 residents from Maheshtala, Budge Budge and Satgachia underwent free surgeries at Drishti Eye Care Centre. An additional 20 citizens from Falta and Maheshtala received treatment at Renuka Eye Institute, and 10 from Metiabruz successfully completed their procedures at Vivekananda Mission Ashram Netra Niramay Niketan.
As long as I have the opportunity to serve, initiatives like this will continue, with focus, compassion and accountability.
Today, at Banga Bhawan in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, I met victims of the deeply flawed SIR process, families who have lost loved ones and citizens who, despite being alive, have been falsely marked “dead” and erased from the electoral rolls. Their testimonies were heartbreaking. In a democracy, to inflict such suffering on the people, is not just tragic, it is unconscionable.
Women, senior citizens, migrant workers, daily wage earners, patients, entire lives have been thrown into chaos by this reckless and inhumane exercise. What is even more alarming is that, without any statutory authority and in violation of the Representation of the People Act, an unprecedented number of micro-observers have been deployed in Bengal to usurp the powers of EROs and AROs. Rules are being rewritten mid-process, technologies misused, and procedures weaponised, all to selectively target Bengal and its people.
The BJP has failed to win the trust of the people. It has failed politically. And so it has chosen to hijack a constitutional institution to do what it cannot achieve democratically. But their conspiracies will only strengthen our resolve. We will fight this assault on democracy with every constitutional means at our disposal. We will fight to protect every citizen’s right to vote, to defend Babasaheb Ambedkar’s Constitution, and to uphold the sanctity of free and fair elections.
In Diamond Harbour, though this chapter of Sebaashray has come to an end, our sacred mission of healing presses onward with unyielding resolve. It moves me deeply to share that, from our health camps in Diamond Harbour, we have referred 11 citizens to the Renuka Eye Institute, where they underwent life-changing cataract surgeries.
Emerging from the shadows of age's veil, they now embrace the world with renewed clarity, their eyes alight with boundless gratitude and the exhilaration of rebirth. Each story is a poignant reminder of the power of compassion to restore not just sight, but hope itself.
Our pledge to good health for every soul remains etched in stone, an unbreakable vow to uplift, to heal, and to unite. Together, let us carry this mission forward, illuminating Bengal's path with empathy and equity.
Standing up for the people, Hon’ble Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has reached the Supreme Court.
Today will stand as an example before the entire nation and the world.
Gujarat has a TRIPLE-ENGINE government:
👉 BJP in the State
👉 BJP at the Centre
👉 Both the Prime Minister and Home Minister from Gujarat
And yet, bridge collapses and infrastructural disasters have become routine, costing hundreds of innocent lives.
Now that @AmitShah is in Bengal, perhaps he can explain: are these Acts of God or Acts of Fraud?
Because when three engines can’t even keep bridges standing, @narendramodi’s much-hyped “world-class infrastructure” narrative collapses along with them.
