The Kano Northern Bypass is one of the key infrastructure projects under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The 38km road will connect the Kano–Hadejia and Kano–Katsina highways, ease heavy traffic in Kano, improve the movement of goods and passengers, attract investment, create jobs, and boost economic activities across the state.

The project was showcased during the Arewa Media Summit project tour, giving journalists and media influencers a firsthand look at ongoing federal government projects in Northern Nigeria.

Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Public Enlightenment, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, has urged journalists and social media influencers to uphold truth, professionalism, and ethical communication.

Speaking at the opening of the #ArewaMediaSummit 2026 in Kano, he said responsible journalism is vital to good governance, public trust, and national development. He also called on governments to improve access to accurate information and stressed the need for continuous engagement between public institutions and citizens.

The summit brought together journalists, media executives, communication experts, policymakers, and digital creators to promote ethical journalism and responsible communication in the digital age.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed the FCCPC to investigate major global tech companies and generative AI platforms over allegations of anti-competitive practices and the unauthorized use of Nigerian media content.

The probe follows a petition by Nigeria’s media industry, with the FCCPC pledging an independent, evidence-based investigation to ensure fair competition, protect intellectual property, and uphold the rights of Nigerian news publishers in the digital economy.

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate a fake body, the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), for falsely claiming to operate under the Presidency.

The President gave the ICPC 30 days to complete its investigation after it was discovered that the body has no legal backing or government approval. The probe will also examine allegations of forged appointment letters, fake government documents, fraudulent bank accounts, and the possible involvement of any public officials.

President Tinubu reaffirmed that his administration will protect the integrity of the Presidency and ensure that anyone found culpable faces the full weight of the law.

President Bola Tinubu has inaugurated the Presidential Committee on the National Policing Bill to draft the legal framework for implementing state police across Nigeria.

Represented by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, the President said the bill will define operational standards, state eligibility, federal-state coordination, human rights safeguards, funding mechanisms, and accountability measures.

The move follows the National Assembly’s approval of the 2026 constitutional amendment establishing a dual policing system—Federal Police and State Police.

The Nigeria Governors’ Forum pledged support for the initiative, while the Attorney-General, Lateef Fagbemi, and the Nigerian Bar Association President, Afam Osigwe, backed the reform, stressing the need for strong legal safeguards to prevent abuse and protect citizens’ rights.

Gani Ya Kori Ji: Kano–Maradi Rail Project Set to Transform Northern Economy

As part of the Gani Ya Kori Ji tour of key Federal Government projects in Northern Nigeria, journalists led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, inspected the Kano–Maradi standard gauge railway project.

Project officials said construction is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed before the end of the year. The railway will improve transportation, boost trade, create thousands of jobs, strengthen agriculture and industry, and deepen economic ties between Nigeria and Niger.

The project includes a 285km Kano–Maradi rail line and a 108km branch linking Kano to Dutse, opening up new economic opportunities across Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, and neighbouring states.

The media team described the visit as an opportunity to witness the progress firsthand, saying the project reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda of expanding infrastructure and driving economic growth.

Gani Ya Kori Ji: AKK Gas Pipeline Nears Completion, Promises Industrial Growth in Northern Nigeria

As part of the Gani Ya Kori Ji tour of major Federal Government projects, journalists led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, visited the Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) Gas Pipeline Project.

Officials disclosed that the 614km pipeline is 95% complete and on track to deliver reliable gas to power plants and industries, lowering energy costs, boosting electricity generation, and accelerating industrialisation across Northern Nigeria.

A flagship infrastructure project sustained under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, the AKK pipeline is expected to create jobs, attract investment, strengthen manufacturing, and unlock new economic opportunities throughout the region.

The project tour gave journalists the opportunity to witness the progress firsthand, highlighting the Federal Government’s commitment to delivering critical infrastructure under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s #RenewedHope Agenda.

The Federal Government is intensifying efforts to ensure every Nigerian is enrolled in the national digital identity system.

Minister of Information Mohammed Idris reaffirmed the commitment while meeting with NIMC DG Abisoye Coker-Odusote, stressing that a reliable digital identity system is key to good governance, economic planning, digital transformation, and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

With over 136 million Nigerians already enrolled, the government is expanding registration nationwide through stronger collaboration with NIMC and NOA to reach every community and ensure no citizen is left behind.
