As part of the Gani Ya Kori Ji tour of key Federal Government projects in Northern Nigeria, journalists led by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Abdulaziz Abdulaziz, inspected the Kano–Maradi standard gauge railway project.
Project officials said construction is progressing as planned and is expected to be completed before the end of the year. The railway will improve transportation, boost trade, create thousands of jobs, strengthen agriculture and industry, and deepen economic ties between Nigeria and Niger.
The project includes a 285km Kano–Maradi rail line and a 108km branch linking Kano to Dutse, opening up new economic opportunities across Kano, Jigawa, Katsina, and neighbouring states.

Officials disclosed that the 614km pipeline is 95% complete and on track to deliver reliable gas to power plants and industries, lowering energy costs, boosting electricity generation, and accelerating industrialisation across Northern Nigeria.
