The guy was belligerent, threatened bodily harm and wouldn't let cop speak to any of the kids to make sure they were ok. The cop made a judgment call- they are allowed to do that.

That cop had every right to go in that house to ensure those kids were ok since shithead refused to let anyone go outside. It's not like he busted in & started searching the place.
