Has our government literally given up on electric vehicles? Why is no one talking about them anymore? It seems to be ethanol, ethanol everywhere these days.

Does this mean India has shifted its focus away from EVs and charging infrastructure? We hardly hear anyone in the government talking about EVs anymore!

Advertising “experience hybrid electric” & also saying starting at ₹10.99 lakh is FALSE ADVERTISING. I know such tactics aren’t new; still shameful. Esp from Toyota! The asterisk apparently absolves it. “terms & conditions apply” doesn’t clarify hybrid starts @ ₹16.77 lakh. SVP

I keep telling people buying EVs: Don't buy an electric car if you,

1. Don't drive at least 1,500 Kms a month.

2. You plan to sell your car without making most of the energy cost savings (which will happen only if you drive a LOT)

and 3. Don't have access to home charging.

This is NOT an isolated case. The owner of a 7 month old Punch.EV went to exchange his car a facelifted Punch.EV. He got a quote 5.7 lakh less than what he'd bought his car for. From the same Tata dealer he bought the car from.

So, it's NOT a good idea to sell off a EV so soon. For that matter, any car. Cars need to be owned at least 7-8 years. Else, FAFO!

if he can afford to have 4 or may be even 10 then let it be. it is a complete loop that works

Good move! It was benefiting ONE major top player primarily with their large portfolio and most under 4m size weighting less than 910 kg

This would have pushed other manufacturers to make lighter cars to compete at that price point. Good that it is scrapped.

@AarizRizvi Has become a norm now, travelled via the same route last week, 2 times at 2 different days, and it took 3hrs 20 min to travel 56 km to and fro (28km) one side.
