Strong public health needs strong public health journalism.
Africa CDC is leading the inaugural Public Health Track of the @_AfricanUnion Media Fellowship (#AUMF Cohort 3.0), supporting five African journalists to strengthen public health reporting across the continent.
The Public Health Masterclass Series opens this week with "Shaping the African Narrative" led by Africa CDC technical experts and designed to build African newsrooms' capacity to cover the continent's health story with accuracy, context, and continental perspective.
The story of Africa's health is one Africans must tell.

It was a pleasure to meet this morning with H.E. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (@AbiyAhmedAli).
We discussed a range of priorities, including his new role as the @_AfricanUnion Champion for Artificial Intelligence and Digital Health, a timely and important responsibility for our continent.
Innovation will be essential to Africa’s health future. As we face evolving challenges, we must harness the power of AI and digital technologies to strengthen our health systems, expand access, and improve health outcomes for all.
@AfricaCDC welcomes Ethiopia’s leadership and commitment to sharing its experience. By working together, we can ensure that innovation translates into practical, inclusive, and equitable impact.
I look forward to strengthening our collaboration to advance a healthier, more resilient Africa.

@PMEthiopia
Today, we celebrate the women making a difference across the continent.
At Africa CDC — at headquarters and across our Regional Coordinating Centres — women are helping shape the future of public health in Africa through their leadership, service, and impact.
Our Director General, @Dr_JeanKaseya, joined women across Africa CDC to recognize their contributions to strengthening health security and protecting communities.
Africa CDC remains committed to supporting women’s leadership and empowering women and girls to thrive.
