Georgia’s focus on teaching culture is ambitious and unusual — especially for an R1 university. It’s much easier to add a new program for students or emphasize a core skill in the curriculum. https://t.co/bK9txitjWo

What examples do you have of beautiful, simple, clear #syllabi, not "terms of service" but maybe an overview of the course that is inviting, visually appealing, conceptually clear? Not the boilerplate contractual stuff, but the noble pedagogical learning part.
From Assignment Makeovers in the AI Age (https://t.co/0E35oIVqkh) - love the "Reading Memo" idea from McGunnigle-Gonzales:
1. What new thing have u learned?
2. What new thing can u explain?
3. What new question do u have?
4. What random something caught your attention?
Our Special Collections Fellows at @RussellLibrary
are hard at work learning how to integrate archives into their curriculum. Here are some pictures of what they have been up to so far!
You can ask a language model to explain why it gave a particular output, and it will answer, but its answer is just another language prediction. It may not actually reflect the reasons. This study shows LLMs make up justifications when influenced by engineers' tweaks.
I just discovered @TracieAddy's vignette videos of inclusive teaching practices and I'm stoked! It's so hard to find high quality videos of instructors actually teaching, rather than talking about their teaching as a talking head. https://t.co/Src5qiqGEd
Whew, this sentence is an excellent button: "By avoiding taking a position on truth, ChatGPT can be fine-tuned to give users the answers they prefer."
Great article from @alisonjhead and Barbara Fister abt info literacy and ChatGPT: https://t.co/bkfVcFW5N8
@AmateurViking@HarvardHSPH@universityofga Welcome to UGA! I made the Harvard/Longwood to Athens, GA transition six years ago, with an almost one-year-old in tow. If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out!
Useful report from UNESCO on ChatGPT/AI use in #highered

I love this flowchart on p.6 and will use it in class!
It's the end of #HonorsWeek and we want to congratulate all the students and faculty across UGA that received recognition for their work! We're so proud to support you in all of your academic achievements!
A survey of articles on ChatGPT in education concludes that "the student voice was missing from almost all the articles" and recommends surveys and focus groups on how "students are engaging with ChatGPT and similar generative AI tools." https://t.co/eWQJOnGNkq
OpenAI is releasing ChatGPT as an API, meaning 1000s of developers will be integrating it into their apps. Snapchat is already on the list, so is Quizlet. We’re about to see Edtech dive into generative AI. We must teach students AI literacy now https://t.co/8ULKog4PHu
