Also props to the soundtrack, it's really eerie and bizarre, I love it. Some of the tracks are the original music made by Kane for his other series!

I watched the Backrooms movie.
Yeah it's really good.

The way they implemented the Backrooms into the main character's story is great, and I like how they reference it in some of the inside dialogue.

In and out of the found footage sections, the movie is really scary. While the entities here are more visible than in the original videos they still get you a spook. And we also get a character in a horror movie with the survival insticts of an actual human.

The appeal of Baki isn't ironic or "you have to view this is a joke" imo, its that the series treats its insanity with the utmost sincerity, many of the events in its pages are absurd and intentionally comedic, but you can feel Itagaki's real love of martial arts and his cast.
