Language is everywhere, it is what connects us. We should not let people who nitpick our use of language discourage us from using our voices. Whether someone uses language to protest or simply sends their friend a letter, we should encourage them and not tear them down.

#396FlynnS23 another great idea from the “Kirby + Krovitz” chapter is to make sure to point out good parts of someone’s writing instead of jus to pointing out everything bad. This can keep students from being discouraged from making too many mistakes.

#396FlynnS23 An idea I got from the “Kirby + Crovitz chapter” is to make sure my students are “responding as a person” and not nitpicking like a spellcheck robot! Students should following the writing and respond as a human would talk to someone face to face.
