Women’s football in England is growing faster than ever.
There’s a lot of discussion around the FA’s proposed changes to the Women’s National League structure for 2027/28.
Some important questions need asking about what this means for clubs across the pyramid.

CWFC's Next Chapter 🖤💛
As our Chair & Vice-chair step down at the end of the season, we're now inviting new leadership to take the club forward.
Over the last 3 seasons, we've seen growth both on and off the pitch. To compete in the FA Women's National League as an independent & voluntarily run club is a superb achievement.
We want to connect with;
– Individuals or groups passionate about women’s football or community impact
– Local business leaders or investors
This is a unique opportunity to take on a well-run, values-driven club with:
– A clean structure (CIC, no debt, no legacy issues)
– Strong foundations on and off the pitch
– Huge potential within the rapidly growing women’s game
If you’re interested, we’d love to hear from you. If you know anyone, please share this.

This Sunday we welcome a brand-new opponent to Chorley as we take on Wythenshawe FC at home.
Although we have faced a Wythenshawe side in the past, this weekend’s visitors are an entirely different club.
We’re sharing a brilliant throwback from that game back in 1987 — including the team photo, programme cover and local match reports. Let’s hope for a better result this time around!
A huge thank you to the Prescott family once again for this unique slice of Chorley history (and the reminder of some unforgettable 80s hairstyles!) - we are truly lucky to have you with us 🖤💛

With no match this week, we’re shining a spotlight on some incredible milestones — and a few more to watch out for as the season continues! 👀
First up, our Captain, Megan Searson, who made her 175th appearance for the club on Sunday against Huddersfield Town. Since joining us in 2017, Meg has truly become part of the furniture here at Chorley — and we hope to see her around (brew in hand ☕️) for many more seasons to come! 🖤
And speaking of part of the furniture… a huge thank you to the ever-present, ever-reliable Prescott Family. Their dedication and commitment to keeping our records means milestones like these can be celebrated properly. Thank you, Rod, Josie and David — we appreciate everything you do for women’s football! 🖤💛
No time for tea? 🍕 No problem!
@matolispizza will be joining us at Euxton Villa tonight for our midweek clash under the lights. ⚽✨
Fresh pizza, football, and a great night ahead! 🙌🖤🤍

@MarcIles If the environment was toxic and there was a split between coach and assistant, why then have three key players left AFTER the decision was made to get rid of the coaches? Still clear as mud
Ridiculous 🙄 Barnsley FC recorded a loss of £2.8m last season and yet choose to dissolve their women's team to cut costs. CWFC, an independent club, compete in the same league with a budget of £50k, breaking even. Terrible, lazy decision by their board.

Last night we also said a fond farewell to our club treasurer, Geoff, who is stepping down from Chorley Women FC after 15 years at the club.
Thank you Geoff for the countless hours behind the scenes at Chorley Women FC over the years and the support you have shown players, staff, and supporters alike. The club would not be where it is without you 🖤💛
