Colman Domingo appeared on the 'Good Hang with Amy Poehler' program and talked about how he met his husband, Raúl, over 20 years ago
"It's a weird thing because I lived in San Francisco for 10 years, then moved to New York. I went back to San Francisco to do a show at Berkeley Rep. I was in Berkeley, California, crossing paths going into a Walgreens, when I saw the most beautiful person I think I've ever seen. Not just beautiful aesthetically, but energetically. We never speak.
Three days later, I was trying to buy a used computer on Craigslist. I couldn't stop thinking about him, so I thought about posting one of those Missed Connections ads.
I used to read them like crazy. I got to the second page, and the third one down — I remember exactly the placement — it said: "Saw you outside of Walgreens, Berkeley." He had posted it just an hour before I looked. So we were looking for each other. And then we met. I'm so uncool: we met three days later, had our first date, and I literally said, "I think I love you, and you're going to change my life." That's how uncool I am, though."
@MorbidPanda25@sloaneosaka That plus whatever Borneo good will Jenna had quickly evaporated once she started winner hunting. Lotta fans soured on her for years.
Why haven't we heard from a SINGLE Democratic state about steps they're taking to counteract the post-VRA GOP power grabs in Louisiana and Alabama and South Carolina and Tennessee and Texas and North Carolina and Missouri and Florida? Is every Democrat asleep at the wheel? Do you think this is going to fix itself? Why is it so fucking difficult for Democrats to fight back? If you're in power in NJ, NY, MD, CO, IL, WA, OR, wake the fuck up and announce steps to redraw the maps so that Democrats are not drawn out of power forever.
Deeply disappointed to see this last-minute intervention in a competitive Democratic primary.
It’s especially tone-deaf in a district that is overwhelmingly Latino, coming on the heels of last week’s decision gutting the VRA.
I am with @Villegas_CA22 all the way.
Israel has now seized a larger percentage of Lebanon's total landmass than Russia has taken from Ukraine since its 2022 invasion. The latter was immediately met with international uproar and unprecedented multi-sectoral sanctions while the former is barely even mentioned.
During the first airing of my Star Trek series where a kiss was objectionable; many southern stations pulled the episode & condemned the show. Using today’s vernacular it would absolutely be called“woke DEI crap”because it went against “norms” of society for its time. Not a lot seems to have changed.🤷🏼😑
Decades ago, Disney issued cease and desists to daycare centers that used their characters in murals. Hanna-Barbera responded by telling daycare centers that they could use Scooby-Doo and other HB cartoon characters for free.
I’ve seen several people make this point, but it bears repeating: a staggering number of Americans are about to realize that the government had the capacity to help them all along simply chose not to, because those in power did not prioritize their lives or well-being.
