The capitol press corps has truly become a second family for me as have my @DenverChannel colleagues. But, I’m excited for the new opportunity and the new challenge.
Some professional news: today is my last day with @DenverChannel. That said, I’m not going far. I’ve accepted a position with Denver7’s parent company @scrippsnews to serve as a national showcasing producer. I’ll be putting together news pieces with a broader appeal.
Some of my pieces may occasionally still run on Denver7. The good news is I’ll be staying in Colorado. It’s been a tremendous privilege spending the past 5 1/2 years to cover the community I grew up in. I will miss covering Colorado politics dearly.

Had an eventful last week. For the next few months I’ll be spending some time figuring out this whole mom thing. I’ll be tweeting intermittently but mostly just enjoying the cuddles. In the meantime, follow @DenverChannel for the latest #Copolitics news.

The third bill adds women’s preventive care to mandatory care coverage for health insurance plans. It also requires large employer plans to provide coverage for the total cost of abortion care without policy deductibles, co-payments or coinsurance: https://t.co/nfTvAIqRNr
Happening today: three abortion bills are being heard in Colorado Senate committees. This is unlike anything I’ve seen in my years at the Capitol. Abortion bills always draw out big crowds. That’s just not the case today. These hearings are noticeably empty. @DenverChannel
