It’s that point in the semester/doc student career that when a stranger pays me a compliment after a presentation, rather than shifting uncomfortably and mumbling a thank you, I instead choke back tears bc at least I’ve done something right 😂

Nothing like getting “giving Tuesday” emails soliciting donations from the institution that doesn’t pay you a living wage while also receiving your credit card statement for the conference their reimbursement policy won’t come close to covering

Also people who glare at parents with screaming babies: stop being jerks. I guarantee that parent isn’t thrilled their kid is screaming either, and the last thing they need is you shaming them. Honestly, your cologne is way more offensive

At the airport to head home (thanks for the early morning total body pat down, TSA!) and I have already befriended 2 small children and held a stranger’s baby. Apparently the only person more grateful for help than a frazzled mom is a panicked dad 😂

Between a professor from @BYU asking me if I’m going to submit a paper based on my presentation to the special issue and an ASU student sending me an emotional email thanking me and asking for a copy of my presentation, I am the best kind of mess today. #TECBD

Make no mistake: this is not about “parents’ rights.” This is about parents who think having unhappy, suffering, and suicidal kids is preferable to having a queer kid. All my teachers were straight, and guess what? I didn’t catch it.

@penn_state: where they’ll pay a literal white supremacist over $5,000 to speak bc a “student group” filled out the appropriate paperwork but cap reimbursing PhD candidates travel for conferences at $700. Tell me more about how “every student is welcome here”
