“We tried to keep our sense of humor," [survivor Roberto] Canessa says of the days they were snowed in by the avalanche. "Sense of humor is very important in life. It's important to laugh at your own condition. That makes you keep going. So if you had something nice to say you would say it and if you had something sad to say you would keep it to yourself. We always worked together to try to raise spirits."” — from A Survivor Recalls the Harrowing 1972 Plane Crash Behind Society of the Snow, by @MegzyM27 for @TIME

now presenting: the best 100 mystery and thriller books, ever. enjoy!
It is absurd that @TIME has been stalling contract talks with workers for nearly 3 years. I stand in solidarity with @timemagunion in their struggle for fair wages and decent working conditions.
We are filing the form today and will be able to legally strike after 30 days. The fight for a fair contract continues. Our collective power continues to grow. This is what @TIME looks like without us, and management should remember that. Workers, united, will never be defeated.
We are not walking out today, but our solidarity is strong and we are more motivated than ever in our fight for a fair contract.
Here’s why we’re calling off our one-day strike:
As of now, we still do not have a fair contract and @TIME management has not committed to any more bargaining before May 23, even though we’ve let them know we’re ready and willing. We are prepared to walk out on Monday and demonstrate the power of our labor.
Readers and supporters can help us by signing our petition to ask @time management to agree to a fair contract before May 23. We’ve cleared our schedules and are ready to bargain. We’re ready to do whatever it takes to win a fair contract for all. https://t.co/6Wn0r4jPrJ
.@timemagunion has been fighting nearly three years to secure the contract we deserve. That’s too long! We’re planning to walk out on May 23—the launch date of our iconic #TIME100 franchise—unless @time management agrees to a fair contract.
TIME Union is prepared to walk out for one day on May 23, the day #TIME100 is released, one of our tentpole franchises that would not exist without our labor—unless @time management agrees to a fair contract.
Over the past 2+ years, while pushing for a contract with the benefits and rights we deserve, many of our union members have left @TIME for other opportunities. Here are some of the reasons they decided to "break up" with TIME.
Basically these proposals would reduce our union to a union in name only. We refuse to stand for that.
Our co-owner Marc @Benioff talks a lot about how workers should be treated. This is his chance to put his words into action.
It’s TIME for a fair contract.
.@TIME management wants to create an underclass of workers who are less protected by allowing temporary or freelance employees to take on union-covered work at any time, unprotected by a collective bargaining agreement.
They also want free rein to “change or eliminate” all benefits at any time with 10 days’ notice. This includes everything from our healthcare coverage to our retirement plans.
