Chicago parents (like me!) just want our kids in school. Instead it's another round of chaos and uncertainty with a Mayor who can't or won't stand up to the union that put him in office. Weighed in on this mess in today's @nytimes. https://t.co/xToUmK0CUY
See say what you will about Rahm but at least he didn’t leave a big game early to beat traffic because he knew it was gonna be tough to get out of there, unlike, uh…

Former mayor Rahm Emanuel tells @TheAthleticFC how FIFA wanted contract that could have forced Chicago taxpayers to pay for a dome on Soldier Field… & how FIFA claimed Chicago needed them for “marketing”

Just another Thursday in Trump’s America:
📌$620M Pentagon loan → company Trump Jr. just invested in
📌Trump pushing to mint a $250 bill with his face on it
📌DOJ investigating his rape victim
Greed. Grandeur. Grudges.
Nothing good for the American people.

There are three doors a child walks through that will determine their future: the front door of the home, the front door of the school, and the front door of the place of worship. If those three doors are not aligned, it impacts a child’s education and future.
Today, 50% of our kids cannot read at grade level. Republicans have abandoned public education, Democrats have abandoned standards and accountability, and our kids are the ones paying the ultimate price.
He's not sharing his military decisions with Congress, nor his own Pentagon. This is a rogue, incompetent Commander in Chief with no plans or strategies.
Just chaos. And none of it makes America safer.
Barney Frank was a courageous legislator of extraordinary character who put his own stamp on Washington. He was a dear friend and colleague, and he will always be my Chairman. He led the House Financial Services Committee through the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression, and as Chief of Staff I worked closely with him on what became the landmark Dodd-Frank legislation. His leadership was defined by the same brilliance and fight that marked everything he touched.
We spoke a few weeks ago — about his book and current events — and he was doing what he always did: reading everything, thinking hard, and offering the kind of blunt, clear-eyed assessments that only he could give, with both insight and humor.
Amy and I send our condolences to his husband Jim and to his entire family. Rest easy, Mr. Chairman.
Crony capitalism, Trump style. Insiders make billions from gaming the oil markets. Wealthy crooks buy pardons. Failsons, er golf club managers become Pentagon contractors. Meanwhile the rest of us get $5 gas, a $1 billion ballroom no one wants, and higher bills across the board. We’re all living in Trump’s world. Now we’re paying for it, too.

Chopped it up w/ @tahmanbradley on the early $$ outlook for Chicago mayoral. Money isn't everything, but Giannoulias number is astonishing, MBJ abysmal. Will CTU be stretched too thin after school board races in Nov to bail him out next Feb? https://t.co/xRDfDZKcdW
Stories like this are why Bring Chicago Home failed, and why the Mayor can’t get traction locally or in Springfield on ‘progressive revenue.’ Taxing the rich is popular! But no one trusts this admin to spend it wisely or efficiently. https://t.co/6z54c8grsq
This was always the obvious move: acknowledge May Day history and meaning in the classroom, allow for voluntary participation, and defuse it. Took a while to get there, but that's roughly where it landed. The chaos in between was entirely avoidable (but predictable).

sick of these catholic converts showing up and saying "well I have a different interpretation of the scripture" no you don't. that's protestantism and a heresy. don't like it there's the (incredibly beautiful and heavily ornamented with precious metals) door
