Prayer of a depressed heart before the Eucharistic Jesus

Jesus, my Lord in the Eucharist, I feel so tired and empty. The things I once loved, I can no longer do, and my heart feels heavy with sadness.

I come to You because I don’t know where else to go. Here in Your presence, I ask You to hold me close. Shine Your light into this darkness within me.
Remind me that I am not alone, even when I feel abandoned.

Lord, heal the brokenness inside me.
Give me strength to take one step at a time. Send me friends who can listen without judgment, companions who can remind me of Your love when I cannot see it for myself.

Let Your Body and Blood restore my weary soul, and awaken in me even a small spark of hope.

Stay with me, Jesus.
I need You more than ever. Amen.

The Sign of the Cross is not a mere gesture. It is not a Catholic habit, a religious reflex, or a ceremonial routine. It is a theology written in movement. It is the Creed in action. It is a weapon, a seal, and a declaration. When a believer traces the Cross upon the body, something invisible but eternal begins to tremble.

This ancient sign is a prayer of power, one older than empires, yet always new. In the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, we mark ourselves with the very mystery of God: Three Persons, One God. Each time we make the Sign of the Cross, we confess the Trinity, we profess our salvation through the Crucified, and we dedicate our whole self—mind (forehead), heart (chest), and strength (shoulders)—to the glory of God.

The Cross we sign is not an ornament. It is the Cross of Calvary. It is the tree where Death was slain. We are signing ourselves with the blood-stained wood on which hung the Redeemer of the world. That movement from forehead to chest, from shoulder to shoulder, is a silent homily: Christ descended from heaven to earth, from God to man, and stretched His arms wide to embrace the world. That is the shape of love. That is the shape of sacrifice. That is the Sign of the Cross.

It is also a defense. The early Church Fathers spoke of it as a shield against demons. Saints and martyrs made the Sign of the Cross before they were thrown to beasts or burned at the stake. They knew it was no empty motion. In it was strength. In it was the echo of Christ's victory over sin, death, and the devil.

The Sign of the Cross is the beginning and end of every holy thing: before Mass, after Confession, at Baptism, at death. It marks us for God. It reminds us who we are and whose we are. It is our silent response to a noisy world. When we cross ourselves in a marketplace, in a hospital, on a battlefield, or at a graveside, we are declaring: I belong to the Crucified One. My body is not mine. My life is not mine. My soul is sealed with the Sign that saves.

So let your next Sign of the Cross not be rushed or careless. Let it be slow, deliberate, prayerful. Let it preach to your mind, stir your heart, and strengthen your spirit. Let it be your Amen in motion.

When You Visit A Priest, Please Remember...🇻🇦🕊️

That a priest isn't married, nor will he have a family of his own. No wife, no children. His family is his parishioners. He is a spiritual father in faith to the community he serves. His future is in celebrating the Eucharist at mass every day, listening to confessions, anointing the sick, serving those who come to him for help. A priest may serve a parish only for a minimum of five to seven years. After that he may be transfered to another parish or assigned a different role in the Church. He relies on his team of volunteers, staff and the lay faithful. Don't expect him to be there all the time for you.

When you give money to the Church, you may be surprised to know that the money isn't for him because no priest earns a fixed salary. They receive a stipend to meet their basic expenses of food, clothing and travel. They save every penny to go for a vacation and much of the money is gifted by friends, relatives and well wishers as they don't get paid leave like the rest of us who work.
While they work for a fixed amount of hours with a day off a week (many don’t even take it), priests are expected to be on stand by 24/7. So don't be angry if they don't respond to you when you need them. They are humans as well with the same frailty as us.

If you hear anyone speaking badly about a particular priest, please correct that person and don't engage in idle gossip without knowing the facts. Remember that they are alone and at times would need company. Pay attention to their emotional, physical and mental needs. Accompany them if needed or offer a helping hand or even a lift. It's not easy to go out alone at 2 or 3 in the morning especially in dangerous neighborhoods for counseling or even anointing someone on their death bed. If someone comes to them at such an hour for help, they have to get up from their deep sleep and still be expected to celebrate Mass in the morning. Who is there for them when they are ill or have emergencies in the middle of the night? Yet they are required to perform their duties because if not them, who?

Remember their birthdays, ordination anniversaries and important events in their lives. Celebrate with them, cry with them. Offer a shoulder to lean on. If they fall, don't judge or criticize. Lift them up and help them on their journey in life. Don't be offended if they don't live up to your expectations. No priest is perfect.

So take care of your priests, remember the ones who baptized, confirmed, married and anointed you. The ones who offer masses for your intentions and pray for you. May God bless our priests in Jesus name, our eternal High Priest. Amen.🙏🏻
