That was a pretty intense thunder storm. One flash right outside accompanied by an immediate loud bang set the field opposite on fire. A couple of fire engines arrived later and damped it down.
Blast from the past. Just got sent these two photographs from January 1981. A young 19 year old me holding the placard at an anti Thatcher demo at Pitney Bowes, Harlow.
Another trip around the Sun completed. This one was a bit bumpier than previous ones.
Enjoyed the day in The Killarney National Park via the Caha Pass.
Nice couple of days off. Got up to very early early on Tuesday to listen to the dawn chorus at Long Strand. It has also been a mega few days for Basking Sharks. Saw 9 off Cloghna Head on Tuesday and at least 26 between Toe Head and Tragumna on Wednesday.
Completed my first IWeBS count since my heart attack back in October. A total of 24 species. Highlights being 15 Red Breasted Mergansers, Common Sandpiper, 3 Red Throated Divers and a Hare. Good to be back out there.
@KevinOM53641162 Must check them out. Is it just a record shop ?
Plenty of time left this Summer to head down to the wild west, though, this weekend is probably one to avoid.
@KevinOM53641162 Hi Kev, All good here thanks.
I do enjoy going through my old gig lists - lots of memories there.
Thinking of memories - I was giving Trinity's Shanty Town Determination album a few nights ago. Saw it on the Dub Vendor fb page.

@KevinOM53641162 Happy birthday Kev. I'll be 64 in a few weeks. All the best birthdays are in May :) 60 is the new 50. If we weren't this age then we wouldn't of been around for all those reggae greats.
IWeBS count today. Some interesting birds - a big count of 105 Snipe at Croagh Lake, also a Siberian Chiff Chaff there as well, being the highlights. Altogether 24 IWeBS species plus Single Otters at Toormore and Crookhaven. 2 Black Throated Divers at Crookhaven.
