Did you know the word ‘junior’ in Junior Doctor doesn’t mean young or unqualified
It’s simply the term for any doctor who is not yet a consultant or experienced GP
That includes this 40 year old who’s been a doctor for over 10 years
Please RT if you think everyone should know
📢 STRIKE DAY ANNOUNCEMENT📢
Our 72-hour strike action will begin on Monday 13th March and conclude on the morning of Thursday 16th March.
It'll involve a full stoppage of work, including nights, on-call shifts and non-resident work. @RobLaurensonD4P#PayRestoration
This is what doctors 3 years postgraduate are being paid in Australia: £61k-92k per annum. I didn't earn £61k per annum until the final few years of specialty training, more than ten years after first graduating as a doctor in the UK.
I still don't earn £92k.
These graphs are horrifying - do we have a duty to make applicants to medical school aware of this? Applications per post compared with posts available - obviously not controlling for multiple apps, very quick plots - but deeply concerning.
