I remember being in Hyannisport at Senator Kennedy 's election night waiting for the votes from Illinois to come at 5:50 am. He won Illinois by 8.000 votes out of 4,200.00.

58 years ago today I advanced JFK to muskegon Mich for labor day rally. 50,000 came out to see him. I was 27 years old no experience and no secret service. WOW

@mikebarnicle American has been a blessing and Great country for millions of its people but there have been times when it was not great . For example, 1,500,000 fellow West Virginians left the state between 1950-60. JFK saw it and wanted to make it great again.

As a staff member I was honored to attend the Army-Navy game in 1961 with JFK. The train ride was great and sitting two rows behind the president is something I will remember for ever.
