Uhm, I really wanted to do this part in the middle of the room just because the album’s called ‘Dinner Party’, it’s got a table, lights, you know. But I wanted to give you a little bit of an insight into what it’s like being in this band, growing up Irish, all the good things, every pint ends up on a pub with a guitar and a sing-song and all that kinda thing. As you can well imagine, those of you who’ve been to Ireland you probably recognise that.

“Copenhagen! Oh my god, this crowd is crazy, thank you so much. Wow. Can you feel this? This is crazy! Thank you so much. The energy in here is palpable, thank you so much for coming out in your numbers and making this much noise and being one of the best audiences we’ve had on this tour so far. This is crazy.

You know what, that last song I was watching- looking out and I was looking at all these fan projects, I guess they’re called. Is that what they’re called? These lighting things are just so cool. And the fact that you all get your heads together, organise these things, set the arena up with the lights, it’s just absolutely amazing. It’s incredible to look out there. Thank you so much for doing that for us. It looks amazing from where we stand.

I was also just looking the song before that, I was looking at these three girls, they were *puts up his arm which looks like he’s imitating taking a selfie* I don’t think they were taking selfies but they were dancing along. I was thinking to myself ‘isn’t it amazing how like those three are friends, they’re both- they’re all fans thinking- *points to the three people he saw earlier* there they are. That’s them right there.

And I was just thinking to myself ‘how would they become friends? Do they listen to the music together all the time? Did they come to the concert together or did they meet tonight? I don’t know. But that’s just all these things going on in my head. I think it’s a really cool thing that you’re able to share this experience.

There’s so many stories like that in this room tonight. It’s pretty cool what you guys- the world that you’ve created in these rooms, it’s pretty special.

"Good evening, Copenhagen. Hello! Welcome to Dinner Party Live on Tour, my friends. God, you're such a beautiful crowd. You're too good looking up this neck of the woods, it's not fair to the rest of us.

How's everybody feeling tonight? It's only been two years, it feels like it's been ten. We've got a lot of making up to do, we've got a lot of lost time we are gonna celebrate the last couple of years, tonight. This is what we've all been waiting for.

Oh my god this crowd is gonna be nuts, I can tell for certain. I can tell within the first couple of songs what sort of a concert we're gonna have, you're right up there this is gonna be good. I can.

Well, it’s good to be back, Copenhagen, as I said, I love it here, I’ve been coming here for many, many, many years sixteen, fifteen years I think about that. And you know what, on this trip we've spent a couple of days walking around the city. What a city, beautiful city! Yeah and as Irish people, we feel horrible walking the streets because as I said you're way too good looking and it doesn't make us feel good about ourselves. And uhm me and Jake were talking about it today that it was kind of sad because you're just too good looking for us so. Stop being so good looking! Leave some for us.

Uhm but yeah we're here to celebrate the last couple of years, since I've seen you last and we're here to celebrate the last ten years of my own stuff and also sixteen.

And the next song I’m gonna play for you came out ten years ago, which is wild and people from all over the world were able to connect with this song for some reason, considering it was just a little song that I wrote with an acoustic guitar uhm all those years ago, and the way it’s connected with the world is just crazy to me, to have over a billion streams now is just wild.

Everything for the last sixteen years, it’s been an absolute honour and a privilege to time and time again come back to this beautiful country, to play for you guys. Thank you so much for turning up. You’re thousands. Every single time.

This will never ever get boring to me, standing here every single night of the week, lots of you guys singing songs that I’ve written, sing my lyrics back to me every night, is just the best feeling in the world. I can’t really describe it to you in words, but all I can say is thank you, thank you, thank you.

I want to say a huge thank you for specifically tonight. The world that we live in is very difficult for people to be able to come to music shows these days and the fact that you would stick your hand in your pocket to come and watch me on a Saturday night with all the things you could be doing, with everything that you could be doing in Copenhagen on a Saturday night, you chose to come here and see me, so thanks so much.

I really, really, really mean that.
