I am incredibly grateful to DT for what he has achieved: He has brought an almost invisible person back to the negotiating table who was no longer tangible for the West.
Now it is up to the Europeans and Selenski to build on this and enter into negotiations.
When I look at the current round, I get the impression that the Europeans could fuck it up today.
He said quite clearly that a ceasefire is too short-sighted. It will also certainly make it more difficult to get Putin to the negotiating table. What's more, he doesn't like to be texted so much. But what has just happened is that almost all heads of government have repeated things that their predecessors have already said.
What's the point of mentioning a hundred times that Putin is a war criminal and that the killing has to stop now? DT now wants to build up its economic relations with Russia, he has no desire to listen to this on a continuous loop.
I just hope we get a bit closer to a solution today, and if not, it's not DT's fault.
