One thing that is a constant burden and plagues recovery while making sobriety a challenge is my nervous system.

My nerves always feel jolted which make trying to relax grueling

I’m constantly in a state of high adrenaline, alert and anxiety with my nerves on overdrive.

This has subdued to a degree over time, but panic attacks and night terrors still occur.
